  • 457 The Transformational Church, Prays Together Wk 2 011523

    January 15th, 2023

What is a transformational Church? How can we become a church that God uses to help transform those that attend? A church that God uses to transform the community where it is located. A church that God uses to help transform the world around us! One of the most important characteristics of a transformational church is our willingness to participate in and our confidence in prayer, not just as individuals, but with other believers, gathered together with the purpose of seeing God's glory demonstrated.

Prayer leads to transformation! God desires us to be a praying church.

We want to share this today because corporate prayer, group prayer, shared community prayer is absolutely as important as preaching and teaching in a healthy church. Praying together is a key to opening God's presence and work among His people in unique ways. This has been an essential part of the church since its creation. We want to make this an even more important part of who we are at Berea.

Maybe you have never placed your faith and trust in Jesus. We would love an opportunity to share with you how to do just that! That would be an incredible way to begin the New Year. God loves you. He created you and He has a plan for you in 2023. Maybe that plan begins with taking the first step toward a relationship with Him today. If you know Jesus but do not have a church home, we want to invite you to be a part of what God is doing among His people at Berea Christian Church.

    January 8th, 2023 @ 10:00 a.m.

Thank you for taking a moment to join us in this way. It means more than you can know. Please help us by sharing this message with others.

What is a transformational Church? How can we become a church that God uses to help transform those that attend? A church that God uses to transform the community where it is located. A church that God uses to help transform the world around us! Becoming a transformational church begins with each one of us allowing God to transform us from the inside out.

The Word of God specifically used the word transform multiple times in the New Testament when talking about the change that takes place when we believe in Jesus and commit our lives to Him. What does that transformation look like in your life? Has it begun? Has it stalled? We will never become who God wants us to be by remaining who we are. Daily we should reflect more and more of the image of God. The Spirit of God desires to continue this transformation until our life on earth is over and we are perfected in His presence.

    Christmas Morning!

    The Outrageous Moment

The outrageous moment that God became man. This is an absolutely essential element of our faith. But many do not believe? Why? This essential truth is every bit as important as the crucifixion and the resurrection! If you are new to the church or new to Jesus, then you might not have had a chance to learn about these truths and how absolutely amazing and outrageous they are! Today we get to start right at the beginning and we get to do it on Christmas day! The birth of Jesus, the coming of God to this world to save us! Christmas rarely happens on a Sunday. Is there anything greater gift we could possibly offer our God than to worship our Savior together on the day we celebrate His birth?

We pray that if you do not have a relationship with Jesus, you might consider beginning one right here with us. If you know Jesus but do not have a church home, we want to invite you to be a part of what God is doing among His people at Berea Christian Church.

    Outrageous Vision

    2 Corinthians 9:15
15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
This is our theme verse for our outrageous series. God has given us an indescribable gift through His Son Jesus. As we continue in this series, this week we shift to the topic of vision. God has an outrageous plan for His bride, the Church, here on this Earth. We know that each of us is to play a vital role in that plan.
    Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained. But happy is one who keeps the Law.

What exactly does this verse mean? How does vision relate to the Law of God? How does it relate to God’s plan for His Church. Specifically, what is God calling us to be and to do here at Berea? This week we will be revealing some of the needs that God has laid on the hearts of the people here at Berea. Needs within our community and needs right here at the church. We believe that God is calling us to be something greater. To reach further into our community and across the world.

We pray that if you do not have a relationship with Jesus, you might consider beginning one right here with us. If you know Jesus but do not have a church home, we want to invite you to be a part of what God is doing among His people at Berea Christian Church.

It could be a time of anxiety or even mourning due to a loss you have experienced. Our prayer is that this week we will give God an opportunity to remind us of the things He has given us. And that this reminder will inspire us to return thanks. No matter what you are going through, He knows. And He loves you. He wants to help you through.

This week we will look at a few examples of outrageous thankfulness found in God’s Word. Who were these people? Why were they so thankful? How can their stories inspire us today? How should we be expressing out thankfulness to God today.
