A police officer has been slashed in the face with a glass bottle during violent protests at Old Trafford yesterday afternoon (2nd May). 

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the officer sustained a ‘significant slash wound’ to his face and was treated in hospital for his injuries. 

At least one other officer was injured during the violence.

A man has been jailed for just 20 months after punching a police officer in the head so hard that he suffered a serious bleed on the brain. 

27-year-old Joshua Gill hit PC Leo Clarke in Peterborough on 8th February when the officer responded to a call for help made from Gull's grandmothers home. 

Gull had become violent towards members of his own family who then called 999 for help.

A paedophile who dragged a 13-year-old schoolgirl into an alleyway is now facing a lengthy sentence behind bars, having been convicted of rape.

On 3rd November 2020, 27-year-old Kadian Nelson abducted the 13-year-old in Mitcham, southwest London, before ordering her to perform sex acts on him.

As the rapist led his victim away, a member of the public, who became concerned after seeing, from a distance, Nelson lead the girl away, pulled out her mobile phone and began to film Nelson.

Tributes have been paid to a much-loved and highly respected emergency ambulance technician who sadly died on Saturday, 24th April, after the vehicle he was travelling in was hit by an object.

Jeremy Daw was the front-seat passenger in a West Midlands Ambulance Service vehicle responding to an emergency call when an object penetrated the windscreen and struck Jeremy on the A49 in Hereford.

Despite the best efforts of his colleagues, Jeremy died of his injuries at the scene.

A violent thug who attacked a response officer with a metal pole, after he had already attacked his partner and kept her against her will, has been jailed.

Darren Parker, 43, of Haylett Gardens, KT1, was sentenced to four years and four months’ imprisonment at Kingston Crown Court on 7 April, having earlier pleaded guilty to three counts of actual bodily harm (ABH) against a woman, and one count of assault on an emergency worker.

A brave police dog has been awarded a trophy for tracking hit and run suspects who fled an overturned car on the M8. 

After seriously injuring other motorists, the suspects ran through a fast-flowing river and over an electric fence in their bid to escape from the consequences of their actions. 

PD Storm (British Transport Police) and his handler, PC Raymond Martin, drove along the motorway towards Edinburgh on 27th May when they came across a vehicle on its roof straddling the hard shoulder and inside lane.

A couple who abused their position working at an Amazon distribution centre in Kegworth have been jailed after admitting their involvement in more than £100,000 worth of theft.

In January this year Derbyshire Police were called to an unrelated incident at the couple’s home in Derby. 

After an initial disclosure by one of the defendants, officers carried a search and discovered a large quantity of items in their original packaging within the home and a car outside.

Thanks to Northumbria Police officers, a predatory paedophile who indecently assaulted two young girls for more than ten years has been jailed.

Edward Brady subjected his victims to a campaign of sexual abuse from 1991 to 2003 where he forced the young girls to carry out sex acts on him, and he sexually touched them. 

In 2013, he also placed a camera in a toilet roll holder in a bathroom to obtain footage of his victims for his own sexual gratification.

Columbus, Ohio, U.S — Police bodyworn camera footage, released by The Columbus Division of Police, shows the moment when a gunfight erupted in the A&E department of a Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, on 12th April 2021 at approximately 12:11 hours. 

27-year-old Miles Jackson had been found by officers asleep on a bench outside of a bank. Some checks on Jackson revealed that he was wanted by the police. 

The officers dealing with Jackson requested an emergency ambulance's assistance after it transpired that Jackson was relapsing following a suspected drug overdose.
