A mum who killed her eight-month-old baby has been jailed for less than six years.

Yesterday at Preston Crown Court, Caitlin Jones, 21, of Willowbank Avenue in Blackpool, was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison. She admitted the manslaughter of her eight-month-old baby, Francesca Haworth.

At 07:30 hours on November 7th 2018, police were called by the Ambulance Service to an address on Frederick Street, following reports a baby had been found unresponsive.

Male Who Assisted An Offender By Pushing A Police Officer Is Given A Suspended Sentence

A Scarborough man who pushed a police officer to the ground allowing another man, who had just assaulted a police officer, to evade arrest has received a suspended prison sentence.

At around 10.50 pm on Thursday 19 September 2019, a group of males had been drinking at the East Ayton Lodge Hotel bar in Scarborough.

At closing time, staff at the bar asked the group of males to leave. However, they refused, so staff called the police to request assistance.

A 27-year-old woman has been jailed after being found guilty of assaulting several Warickshire police officers. 

Gemma Laws, of Heming Walk, Nuneaton, was arrested following a disturbance at her home address.

In the early hours of Sunday 21st March, 999 response team officers attended a residential address following reports of a disturbance.

A religious studies school teacher who allegedly showed a caricature of Prophet Muhammed to his students during a lesson at Batley Grammer School has been placed under police protection, as per Mirror Online. 

There has been a second day of protests outside the school, which has meant that the school has been closed and students sent home. 

Typically, individuals will only be placed under police protection if there have been credible threats regarding their safety.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the serving soldier who was 'attacked and held hostage' after leaving his barracks to meet a 'Tinder Date' last weekend.

The 18-year-old soldier is understood to have left Dreghorn Barracks on Saturday 20th March to meet a date at a property in Edinburgh.

But when the soldier arrived at the address, another man is said to have assaulted him and 'held him hostage'.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) has taken delivery of two fully electric operational manager response cars as part of its commitment to reducing its impact on the environment. 

Following the launch of the UK’s first 100% electric ambulance by the Trust in October 2020, West Midlands Ambulance Service has worked with its partner, conversion specialist VCS of Bradford, to launch two all-electric zero-emissions Jaguar I-Pace ambulance response cars, which will be going into operation in Birmingham in the coming weeks.

A former gang member has spoken about his experiences of stop and search. 

Many sections of the mainstream media - and some politicians - constantly seek to undermine stop and search without having any fundamental or accurate understanding of how stop and search can, in real terms, save peoples lives. 

But a former gang member, who was recently released from prison, has taken the bold step of talking openly about his previous life and how he now understands the critical role that stop and search has to play in reducing knife crime.
