Metropolitan Police detectives are appealing to the public for information after shots were reportedly fired towards police on a housing estate in Colindale, north London.

On Thursday 18th March, ten plain-clothed officers from the Met's North West Violence Suppression Unit, were on patrol in the Grahame Park Estate.

At approximately 19:10 hours the officers responded to information from concerned residents that there was a 'large gathering' in the area.

One of Sarah Everard's friend has spoken out following the events which took place on Clapham Common last weekend when a small group of individuals disrupted what had been a peaceful vigil for the 33-year-old marketing executive.

During the incident, it has been reported that over 20 police officers were assaulted. At least one police vehicle was also damaged. Four people were arrested.

JUANJA pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon, committing an offence under Section 4a of the Public Order Act, and assault by beating of an emergency worker.

Firefighters from the London Fire Brigade were called to a fire in a residential block of flats after an electric scooter - that was being charged at the time - caught fire. 

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters responded to the incident at a flat on Callender Road in Erith earlier in the week. 

The electric scooter, which was located in a first-floor corridor, was destroyed in the blaze.

Portland, Oregan | Portland has seen what has been described as a 'surge' in gun violence after it saw widespread calls for the police to be 'defunded' in the wake of the death of George Floyd last year. 

Amid calls for social workers to attend calls, pressure groups also sought to divert funding away from the police to fund 'community projects'.

A firefighter has apologised to their Metropolitan Police colleagues after the Fire Brigades Union condemned the force following the scenes which unfolded on Clapham Common last weekend. 

'Reclaim These Streets' had intended on holding a candlelit vigil following the tragic death of Sarah Everard whose body was found in woodland several days after she went missing.

The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) has introduced bespoke, handmade cuddle pockets so that stillborn babies can be transported to hospital with compassion and sensitivity.

The knitted pockets are designed for babies who are less than 24 weeks, who are placed inside and the ribbons tied together. The baby’s parents are then encouraged to hold their baby during the journey.

A cowardly child beater who beat a two-year-old child against a wall, leaving him with brain injuries, has been jailed for three years.

Jordan Kelsick, 25, claimed he caused the injury by shoving the two-year-old back into his cot, causing his head to hit the wall.

Paramedics were called to the boy’s home and found him having a seizure on 21st April 2020.

An unnamed police officer with 20 years of service has talked about why they have decided to quit the job after two decades of serving the public.

Generally, morale in the police is low. 

Officers are having to endure policing the pandemic against a back-drop of never-ending overtly biased negative media coverage. 

These factors, combined with a dramatic rise in the number of police officers who have been seriously assaulted, leave many officers contemplating leaving the job.
