Due to scheduling difficulties Megan was unable to be a part of this episode. We more than made up for her absence with our first guest on the show. Kyle dives into the chronic pain recovery process with Dr. Tara King. Tara is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Director of Clinical Operations at Lin Health. She specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy and chronic pain recovery. The interview starts by sharing some personal experiences with chronic pain. Then getting into discussing what the process is to recover from chronic pain and what the different elements of the process are. Then we get into the coaching experience of facilitating this process for people. Next, we discuss the potential reasons for the prevalence of chronic pain. We wrap up the conversation with some interesting concepts and questions as you have come to expect on the show.

In the first of our series of episodes focused on chronic pain we dive into the neuroscience of pain. We discuss what pain is and how it works generally. It may actually be quite different than you expect. Then we focus on how pain can become persistent or chronic because the processes involved in pain can learn and change. We finish out the episode by introducing what can be done about chronic pain at a high level, much more to come on that in future episodes. This was a fun episode to record with boo boo's, an unexpected guest, and some personal stories.

This episode is intended to set our listeners up for the journey ahead. Any journey into the esoteric can be uncomfortable and requires challenging your own beliefs and perspectives continually. Esoteric knowledge isn't necessarily hidden from the masses to keep them from accessing it. Rather, the masses generally avoid pursuing it because it is not easy. We then dive into some key paradigms that are foundational to our modern society and culture. Looking at them from different perspectives and how they may in fact be incorrect.

We continue our discussion from last episode about psychedelics. In this episode we cover the common elements of a psychedelic experience. Then we explore the link between these experiences and the near-death experience. That leads us into spirituality and the role psychedelics can play, as well as the role they may have played throughout history. Finally, we explore the reasons why psychedelics are illegal today and have been for 100's of years.

In this episode we start our multi-episode discussion of psychedelics. We start at the beginning with what psychedelics are and how they work in the brain. Then we discuss what therapeutic use of psychedelics is, what it looks like, why they are therapeutic, and what they are being used to treat. Then we get into the current legal status, what that means, and where it might be heading. We wrap it up with talking about how Kyle coaches around psychedelics and finally our own personal experiences with psychedelics.
Note: There were some issues with Megan's mic early in the episode. We're still learning... we decided it was best to just get it out there for everyone rather than delaying to record again.
