The Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey NCA is a great place to recreate just an hour south of Boise, Idaho.  It features camping, fishing, boating, hiking and more.

The Historic Wendover Airfield is where the bombers trained in WWII.  The history is fascinating.  It is just a few miles from the magnificent Bonneville Salt Flats where people try setting land speed records on the speedway.  It is a very interesting place not far from Salt Lake City.

Most people drive to the Chapel, but I highly recommend a hike to it.  Or at least hike the Chapel Trail as the views are the best from this location.
