    We can not be benefiaries of demon-infested systems, structures and institutions and claim to be casting out demons. To truly cast out demons and doing so in the name of the true and living God, we must be united in the fight against evil in all its forms and manifestations. Until we say no to the benefits of demonic systems, structures and institutions, we can not truly claim to be casting out demons in the name and by the power of God.

    Yes, many feel today that it doesn't pay anymore to keep one's hands clean of evil in our present day society. However, today's readings suggest the contrary. In fact, the righteous shall be distinguished from the wicked by the outcome of their life. God assures us of visiting the righteous to heal, restore and bless them as well as answer their prayers in their time of need.

We must make every effort to draw from God the inspiration and passion and rely on the free gift of God's grace to live out this virtue. It's impossible to be truly a Christian without the virtue of forgiveness.

    TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.
    There is no path that's better than the path of learning and doing the will of God. This explains why Jesus would insist that obedience is better than sacrifice. In humble submission, let us come to the feet of Jesus to learn with keen attention the will of God and fervently live by His will in our daily life. Like Jesus, let us make the doing of the will of God our food.

    TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.
    Indeed, the life we live has effects on others. When we live in accordance with the will of God, we become blessings unto others. On the other hand, refusal to live in accordance with the will makes one a curse unto others. Let's go out today and always, like the good Samaritan, living in such a way that we become blessings to others. We're meant to be neighbours, not rivals and enemies.

    TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.
    If what you aspire to as your source of joy and happiness and things that are earth-bound, then true and lasting joy, inner peace and enduring happiness will certainly elude you as such are transient. Jesus in the Gospel of today admonishes us not to anchor our joy, peace, happiness and sense of fulfilment on anything mundane, carnal and earth-bound but on what is eternal and enduring. Let us, like Our Lady of the Holy Rosary; the Blessed Virgin Mary, aspire after the values of the kingdom of God.

    Indeed wickedness begets woes. This is evident in the life of individuals, communities and nations. On the other hand, kindness and righteousness bring blessings and peace. A community, nation or an individual in whose life righteousness and kindness prevail finds peace, progress, sustainable development and other blessings. We must be ready for the consequences of our choices, actions, inactions and our ways of living. What you sow you Shall reap.

    TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.
    Upon the realisation of the gross infidelity to God following their return the exile in Babylon, the Israelites broke down in tears bemoaning their Iniquities. Ezra, the priest, however, told them as God tells us today; do not mourn or weep for this day is holy to the Lord your God. On the contrary, like the Israelites, we're to go rejoicing since, having realised the gravity of our Iniquities, God calls us to repentance, grants us forgiveness and invites us to a new relationship with Him built on true repentance and righteousness. It's a call to a new beginning in and with God in order to experience the society of our dream as ordained by God.

    In following Jesus Christ, if you seek any gain before you give up anything in His service you'll be frustrated and disappointed in your followership of Jesus. In serving God, we gain everything by giving up everything. Discipleship of Christ Jesus is at a cost and only those ready to pay the price find the reward of true discipleship.
    TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF.
    Today amidst all odds Jesus heads for Jerusalem to effect the redemption of the people of God and to restore the fulness of God's glory upon them. Let us join Jesus Christ to Jerusalem today through sincere repentance and adopting the new standard of serving God as established in and by Jesus Christ in order that we may be truly and fully redeemed and restored.
