THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. Since Jesus Christ has the power to do all things are Christians still supposed to suffer at all if God truly loves them? What exactly is the cost implication of following Jesus Christ? To be a true disciple of Jesus Christ one must go beyond group mentality, make a conscious choice of responding positively to Christ's invitation to follow Him and put this 'new' relationship with the Divine Master over and above everything else in life. THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. Saint James tells us that "a person is justified by good deeds and not by faith alone" (James 2:24), adding that "faith without good deeds is dead" (James 2:26). It is not possible to demonstrate true faith in God without good works informed by love neither is it possible to carry out true acts of love and charity without a genuine faith in God. Above all, these two; FAITH AND LOVE/CHARITY, MAKE THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE as they are the easiest and surest access route to God's heart. May God who sees your faith and acts of kindness visit you with the miraculous touch of his hand, causing the impossible to become possible through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. Is there still any hope left for me? Is there anything I'm still living for? Is there any hope or future for my family, my business, my relationship, my community, my nation or my generation given the prevailing circumstances of the age? What is the fate of Christianity/the church given the trends of our time? These and similar other questions stare us in the face everyday. Amidst all these however something remains a constant; WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE (cf. Matt. 19:26; Mk. 10:27; Lk. 1:37; 18:27). THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. Like John the Baptist, each of us is CREATED FOR A PURPOSE AND CHOSEN FOR A MISSION BY GOD. At the core of this purpose and mission is the salvation of souls. The the meaning of your life, the value of your existence, the impact you are able to make on humanity, the fulfilment you have while living and the ultimate reward you get at the end your sojourn on earth depend largely on this rather than of the circumstances of life. Who are you and to what extent are you fulfilling your divinely ordained purpose of your existence and mission of your life? @FadaPeterBenson.

THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. There are uncountable sources all around us promising solutions to various human problems and claiming to have answers to the myriad of questions facing humanity today. Most of these sources claim they are of God but not all are. In their desperate quest for solutions and answers to their problems and questions, many people have fallen victims to the exploitative activities of false prophets. Today, Jesus tells us; "BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS". No matter what you have been through and are still going through, trust God, have faith in His covenant, hold Him by His Word, be patient and wait on Him. HE NEVER FAILS. THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. What makes for wealth is not so much what you have but whom you have. Lot had the greener pasture, Abram had God. The difference in their wealth is glaringly clear (Lot left Sodom with nothing). More importantly, whom you have and not what you have will determine your ability to enter through the narrow gate to take possession of the kingdom of God. May God help us to cherish and price his presence in our life over and above every earthly possession and so come to treat others as we would want them treat us and as God would want us treat them. THE HEART OF TODAY'S SERMON. If you put your attention on human beings and allow your way of life to be conditioned by how they treat you, it won't take long you will become a judge unto others for human beings will always fail you and fall short of your standards. If you put your attention on God who has called you into a personal relationship, you will always desire to grow in perfection so as to stay worthy of his relationship and covenant with you. By this fact, you inspire others to grow in perfection too. Above all, you demonstrate your faith in GOD WHO IS EVER TOO FAITHFUL TO FAIL YOU. May He never fail you, especially at those moments of life when you need him most and when all other helps fail through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. THE HEART OF TODAY'S MESSAGE: 'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' (Act 17:28). When do we serve God; when things are ok with us? When we are in trouble? When we are convinced he loves and cares about us? Is God an option with other rival alternatives? OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND WORSHIP OF HIM IS IMPERATIVE AND SACROSANCT. THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE TO GOD AND THERE WILL NEVER BE!

THE CORE OF TODAY'SSERMON. "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him" (Heb 11:6). Faith, by it's nature, keeps our pride and fears in complete check. In fact, faith eliminates pride and fear. Only faith can enable us escape the danger and folly of laying up treasures for ourselves on earth. @FadaPeterBenson

SUMMARY OF TODAY'S SERMON. Is your devotion to God still pure, sincere and genuine? Did you realise that your value as a human person is not a condition of what you have but whom you have in you? Do you truly have God in you as the epicentre of your being and existence? Did you realise your value in life is intrinsic; given by God and totally dependent on the extent to which he is present in your life? Did you know that this Gospel of "let's make the money/wealth first and we come use it to serve God, care for our family, etc" is not of God but of the false teachers? Did you know no one can secure his /her future outside of God no matter how much he/she tries? Have you realised that the quest to secure one's future has led many away from God and entrapped them in a sorry state? Did you realise that such a quest outside of God ends only in futility? Did you know that you can still find God, become true, sincere and pure in your devotion to him, allow his presence give true value to your existence and secure your future? All we need to get there is simply to ask him each day "GIVE US OUR DAILY BREAD". As you do a total self dedication to God today and consciously resolve to be contented in his care and love for you henceforth may you find the inner peace, tranquility, self worth and assurance that come only from God. May God prove himself worthy of your trust in him. May he satisfy your quests and provide your needs and above all secure your future in himself so that the cares of this world and the challenges of this life will not lead you away from him.
