THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. The Psalmist asks in Psalm 85:6 "Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?" The Israelites have sinned against God and now God appears to have abandoned them, hence this question. Like the Israelites and the brothers of Joseph we too, haven gone astray in sin, often wonder; when will God show us his face, his mercy, his favor, his blessings etc again. THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. God promised in the book of Joshua 1:5 that; "no one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you".

GOD IS INDEED WITH YOU TO SAVE YOU IF ONLY YOU CAN RECOGNISE HIS PRESENCE WITH YOU AND CLING TO HIM IN ALL THINGS AND AT ALL TIMES. May your hope and faith in God never fail you and may God who is ever present in your life circumstances manifest His power to save that you may live to testify to the glory of His Holy Name through Christ Jesus our Lord. THE CHRISTIAN FAITH, AND BY THAT FACT EVERY CHRISTIAN, HAS BEEN BUILT UPON THE MOST SOLID FOUNDATION which has the apostles and prophets as it's foundation stones and Jesus Christ as it's corner stone. To this effect, as Christian we must live beyond the grip of doubt, fear, despair, depression, desperation and discontentment. The foundation of the building to which we belong (the Body of Christ Jesus) is too strong to fall. May God give us the grace to trust him and put all our faith in him without any doubts no matter what life brings our way for in him our victory is assured. @FadaPeterBenson.

Jesus, indeed God, is the true friend of sinners; a relationship that is targeted at transforming the sinner to a disciple and then to a Saint, the true child of God as it were. Obviously, it's the sick that needs the physician and the relationship between the sick and the physician is meant to restore the sick to good health. This is the aim of our relationship with God in Jesus Christ. We're invited to FOLLOW Jesus in his own way of life, thereby dropping our own (old) way of life for his. May God help us to be true friends and disciples of Jesus so we can enjoy the fulness of the benefits of this new relationship. God is our provider and He does provides for those who put their faith and trust in Him. We are therefore called and encouraged to trust in God's providence no matter what life brings our way as we journey through life.

THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. Ishmael was a lovely innocent child until he was sent out of the human society into the wilderness. The wilderness brought out the beast in him and his descendants. The demoniacs were beasts living among the tombs (wilderness) but Jesus, killing the beast in them, brought out the saint in them and reintegrated them into the human society. By circumstances you subject people to, you either bring out the saint or the beast in them. May God help us to avoid the mistake of Abraham and Sarah and be more of Jesus unto others. THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. From the beginning of its existence THE POWER OR HUB OF CHRISTIAN WITNESSING HAS ALWAYS BEEN CHRISTIAN UNITY. The name CHRISTIAN was given to the early followers of Jesus Christ in Antioch following their UNITY (cf. Acts 11:26). We may produce great men of God from our families. We may build the greatest edifices as churches today. We may work the greatest miracles ever in human history. We may have the largest crowds during church programs. We may be able to afford/acquire the best luxurious cars and most expensive private jets. None of these in themselves can increase the influence Christianity wields on the human society. They may gain us (as christian figures) followership and not necessarily followership for Jesus Christ. THE POWER OF OUR CHRISTIAN WITNESSING STILL LIES IN GENUINE CHRISTIAN UNITY; A CHRISTIAN VALUE THAT IS SERIOUSLY LACKING IN OUR ERA. May God grant us true and lasting unity built genuine Christian love in our homes/families, in our churches, in our workplaces, in our communities and among Christians of all denominations that our Christian witnessing may transform the human society and win more souls for God. THE HEART OF TODAY'S HOMILY. Since Jesus Christ has the power to do all things are Christians still supposed to suffer at all if God truly loves them? What exactly is the cost implication of following Jesus Christ? To be a true disciple of Jesus Christ one must go beyond group mentality, make a conscious choice of responding positively to Christ's invitation to follow Him and put this 'new' relationship with the Divine Master over and above everything else in life.
