The Eurovision Spotlight - The National Final Season: With the beginning of a New Year is also the start of the National Final Season for the Eurovision Song Contest. Montenegro returns to the contest in 2025 and had already selected their entry in November 2024. 36 countries are taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 which will be taking place on 13 and 15 May 2024 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final on 17 May 2025. Radio International will be taking a look at the national finals and showcase the highlights every week in the Eurovision Spotlight as Chris Poppe continues the series looking at the countries' selection shows of the past week.

Live Interview with Chiara (Malta 2005): Celebrating 20 years anniversary of the song "Angel" since it was Malta's entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 which took place in Kyiv, Ukraine. Chiara performed the song so beautifully and took it all the way to Number 2 in the Grand Final Scoreboard behind Helena Paparizou from Greece with the song "My Number 1". To celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Angel", Chiara will join Marc and JP for a chat on this week's edition of Radio International to talk about her times at the Eurovision Song Contest as she represented Malta not only twice but three times. In 1998 Malta came 3rd with "The one that I love", in 2005 Malta came 2nd with "Angel" and in 2009 a number 22 with "What if we". We are very much looking forward to be speaking the one Malta's finest singers.

Miriana Conte just won the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025

The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025: On Sat. 08 Feb 2025 Miriana Conte and her song "Kant" was selected by the jury and Maltese public to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contetest 2025 in Basel in May. Radio International conducted interviews with all the contestants and more. Over the next weeks you will hear these interviews on Radio International's weekly dose. Norway's Melodi Grand Prix 2025: Saturday, 15 Feb 2025 is the date of Norway's National Final - The Norsk Melodi Grand Prix. Nine acts are battling it out for the ticket to represent Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in May. The lineup includes the Bobbysocks who previously won the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 with the song "Let it swing" and also Wigwam who represented Norway in 2005 with the song "In my dreams". Radio International will introduce the songs of the Norway Melodi Grand Prix on the show this week with Robert Wahlstroem.

Melodifestivalen 2025: Sweden's national final is called Melodifestivalen and is the biggest one in the world of the Eurovision Song Contest. It is the 65th edition and is produced by Swedish broadcaster SVT. 30 entries out of 2794 submitted songs made it to the shows. The 30 entries will take part in the competition across five heats. Each heat consists of six songs, with the top two songs directly qualifying for the final. Unlike in the previous edition, only the third-placing song will proceed to a final qualification round at the end of the fifth heat, which will now feature five songs instead of ten. The top two songs in the final qualification will then progress to the final, which will comprise 12 songs. The winner of the final will be determined by the usual 50/50 combination of votes from the public and an international jury. All shows will all be hosted by Edvin Törnblom and Kristina Petrushina.The dates and locations of the shows is shown below:

The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025: The Malta Eurovision Song Contest is the National Final to select that song that will be representing the country at the Eurovision Song Contetest 2025 in Basel in May. at the allocation draw on 28 Jan 2025 Malta was drown to perform in Semi Final 2 in the Second Half. The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will be hosted by Daniel and Ylenia from Malta's Magic 91.7 FM and takes place on Tuesday, 04 Feb 2025 for Semi Final 1, Thu 06 Feb 2025 for Semi Final 2 and the Grand Final will be held on Sat 08 Feb 2025 in the MFCC (Malta Fairs and Convention Centre). This week Radio International will showcase the songs of Semi Final 2 of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025.

GREECE - Ethnikós Telikós 2025: The Greek participating broadcaster Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) will organise the national final Ethnikós Telikós 2025 in order to select its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. The competition will take place on 30 January 2025 at the Christmas Theater in Galatsi hosted by Sakis Rouvas (Greece 2004 and 2009 and host of Eurovision 2006 in Athens) and Eurovision Winner 2005 Helena Paparizou who was also part of the Greek entry in 2001 in Antique. 12 artists are competing with 12 songs which Radio International will introduce the the fans on the show this week.

BELGIUM - Eurosong 2025: The Belgian participating broadcaster, Flemish Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT), will organise the national final Eurosong 2025 in order to select its entry for the contest. The competition consists of two pre-recorded showcase shows that were broadcast on 18 and 25 Jan 2025, followed by a live Grand Final to be broadcast on 01 Feb 2025 where the winning song and artist will be selected to represent Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. Radio International is please to introduce the songs to the fans on the show this week.

The Bendorm Fest 2025 - Spain's National Final to Eurovision 2025

The Benidorm Fest 2025 - Spain's National Final to Eurovision 2025: In 2024, Nebulossa won the Benidorm Fest 2024 with the song "Zorra" and with that represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. The 2025 edition of the Benidorm Fest has 16 songs in the competition distributed on two Semi Finals and a Grand Final to be held on 28 Jan 2025 for Semi Final 1, 30 Jan 2025 for Semi Final 2 and the Grand Final on 01 Feb 2025. The venue is the Palau Municipal d'Esports. Radio International this week will showcase the 16 competing songs of the Benidorm Fest 2025 with Javier Leal who will give us his prediction of what he thinks is the winning song and Spain's entry to Eurovision 2025.

Home Composed Song Contest 2024 - The Results: The annual music competition for non-professional musicians took place late 2024 with the public and jury casting their votes.

The Home Composed Song Contest celebrated 33 years in 2024 and is a competition for Eurovision fans who write, perform and produce their own music, who enter their own original song composition (audio only) and then also take part as a jury, to help choose the winning song. In 2024 there were 28 songs from 13 different countries. The Radio International Team once again formed a Jury.

The Winning Song of the Home Composed Song Contest 2024 received 151 points from the public and the international juries.

The Eurovision Spotlight - The National Final Season: With the beginning of a New Year is also the start of the National Final Season for the Eurovision Song Contest. Montenegro returns to the contest in 2025 and had already selected their entry in November 2024. 36 countries are taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 which will be taking place on 13 and 15 May 2024 for the two Semi Finals and the Grand Final on 17 May 2025. Radio International will be taking a look at the national finals and showcase the highlights every week in the Eurovision Spotlight and Chris Poppe continues the new series.

The Luxembourg Song Contest 2025: The Luxembourg Song Contest is the National Final to select that song that will be representing the country at the Eurovision Song Contetest 2025 in Basel in May. The show will be hosted by RTL and takes place on Saturday, 25 January 2025. Radio International will showcase the seven songs that are in the competition this year.

Also JP will be joined by David Mann for the Eurovision Birthday File and Eurovision Coverspot. Nick will be presenting the Eurovision News courtesy of escXtra.com. The Eurovision Vault is presented by Michael Goodrich from Tucson, USA.There will be a lot of the great new releases of Eurovision artists on the show as well as great Eurovision Classics.
