This episode is a little bit about me. I wanted to tell a bit of my story as an opener. In the next episodes I will tell different stories about things I have done. I wil be Honest and my stories will make you feel like you are in a safe space.

Jocelyns mom has always struggled with addiction, but has never stopped trying to get sober. Jocelyn has been her mothers care giver all her life and just wants to protect and help her. Her mom lives with her and her family. Although her mother struggles Jocelyn understands that her mom doesn't want to hurt her or be this way. Thats why she can forgive and be best friends with her. Their bond is so strong. It is impressive that she broke out of the generational addiction only to find healing and understanding.

Kyle after a knee injury, was prescribed opiates. The pain never went away but the opiates did. Leaving him to find them on the street. After 8 years of acctive addition he had3 heart attacks and is lucky to be hear. He shares his story of his journey to sobriety.

Cat grew up in a small town with white picket fences and perfect families. She was never aware of addiction until she was 18, when her Mother died while drinking and driving. She still did not see herself as an addict as it never affected her life. During the pandemic after her roomate gave her an ultimatum, did she finally start to see it. She found sobriety after going to AA, and lives a life of freedom.

Amber comes from a background of generational addiction. But she never really thought she had a problem at first because she is a binge drinker. After having her son she realized that she wanted a better life for him and broke the cycle of family addiction. She now works with a centre that provides help and resources for anyone in need.

Brittany has lived most of her life with her brother in active addiction. She shares how it affects her family dynamic. She is emotionally raw about her experiance, proving that addiction really does affect everyone involved.

This person wants to remain annonymous. He talks with me about his struggles with addiction. He is going to rehab soon and I wish him the best.

Rob just wanted friends, so when a new friend introduced him to drugs he did not think about where it would lead him. But through all of his struggles he went to a year long rehab and is now almost 3 years sober.

Prue grew up with a mother in active addiction. It was not an easy childhood but she always loved her. She stayed by her moms side after everyone turned their back on her. She loved and took care of her mom until her untimely end.
