Gaby Petito, the Cold Case File that struck the nation, has some recent developments and Social Media influencers around the world are "on the case". Brian Laundrie (Gaby Petito's Boy Friend) returned ALONE from a cross country trip they ventured on together. Part of the reason this story struck the nation was because of the fact that they were actually documenting their trip on social media via YouTube. Then suddenly, it stopped. When Brian Laundrie returned, he refused to talk to Gabby Petito's family, he refused to talk to law enforcement, and soon went missing himself. The FBI commenced a nation wide manhunt for Brian Laundrie. Podcasters, influencers on Tik-Tok, Instagram, Facebook and more banded together to try and figure out what was going on. To piece together the clues from their trip. There was footage on YouTube, as well as body cam footage from an officer that pulled them over on the road. It ended up being enough to point authorities and social media influencers in the right direction. It was actually another influencer couple from the state of Florida that found their missing van from previous footage of their own road trip. Are we entering a new era where information is available to the public, allowing podcasters and influencers well versed in the world of cold case files to actually aid in investigations? Is it a distraction? With more eyes on the world than ever, there may be a new era of justice that was previously impossible to fathom.
