  • Ep. 78: Over the Hills and Far Away & Fire on the Mountain
It’s episode 78! This week, Emma and Anish have prepared the perfect stories to distract you from the craziness that is our world right now. Emma covers the strange events from Goblin Hill, a town in Ireland, in a story with a surprise twist at the end! Anish talks about the haunting and gruesome serial killer Pedro Alonzo Lopez, better known as the Monster of the Andes. In terms of movies and TV shows, we watched the Amazon Prime film Blow The Man Down, which is sure to leave you craving chowder. We also binged the Netflix docuseries Tiger King, which has just about every crazy element you could ask for. Emma tested out the new Netflix Party extension with her friends, and had a blast watching the movie Murder Mystery (again). Lastly, we wanted to give our friends at Modern Moose a quick shoutout — and, dear listeners, there may be a giveaway in your future...

  • Ep. 77: Russians & Time
Welcome to episode 77! This week, we’ve called on Krish to join us — mostly so that he doesn’t spend the time on his Xbox instead. Emma starts off with the long and gruesome story of Andrei Chikatilo, also known as the Rostov Ripper. Anish covers an in-between topic, opting to talk about the conspiracy of the Montauk Project. If you’re a fan of Stranger Things, then his story is bound to ring some bells. Since we’re cooped up at home due to the coronavirus, we’ve had ample time to binge watch a lot on our list. We watched the Hulu movie Grabbers, The Conjuring 2, Tremors, Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade, and started season 3 of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel! We do have some solemn Liverpool news, but it’s not enough to put a significant damper on our break.

  • Ep. 76: Zombie & Acid Jazz Singer

Welcome to episode 76! This week Emma regales us with the history of Zombies! She dives into multiple origin stories from around the world, but finishes with a real-life case. Anish has a true crime story that took place at the end of World War 2. He dives into the serial killer, John George Haigh, aka The Acid Bath Vampire. We spent our free time watching movies up in Maine this past weekend. We tried to stay awake through Timmy Failure, Mistakes Were Made, but we failed - not so much due to the movie, but exhaustion. However, we rebounded the next evening with an unknown gem, Pride (Amazon Prime), and the classic Western, Unforgiven. For our Liverpool FC update, we are back to our winning ways and are now 6 points from the ultimate prize!

  • Ep. 75: Ring of Fire & Black Dog
Wow, It’s episode 75! We’d love to say that we researched special stories for this episode, but we didn’t realize the milestone either ;) This week Emma has a true crime story about the deaths of 4 girls in Austin, TX, and the additional injustice in the aftermath of the heinous crime — she covers the Yogurt Shop Murders. Anish takes us on a history lesson that involves the East India Company, reincarnation, and at one time, the most haunted house in Scotland. He tells us the tale of Major Robert Steuart and the Haunting of the Ballechin House. For all the weeks where we slacked on movies, shows, and regular binges, we have redeemed ourselves. We finished the series Locke & Key, as well as Killing Eve Season 2. Emma is finally caught up on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and binged the new Netflix show “I Am Not Okay With This.” Anish binged Gentefied and the whole family watched Knives Out. Throw in Krish’s Bday and it was an eventful week ;) On the Liverpool FC front, the undefeated run (44 games) had to end sometime, but we'll keep the eyes on the EPL prize!

  • Ep. 74: Subterranean Homesick Alien & Karn Evil 9
Welcome to episode 74! This week, Emma heads down to the town of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to discuss the Kelly Green Men (who, by the way, are silver, not green). Anish’s story is about a killer on death row for a single crime, but would later be linked to 22 more murders. He covers the story of Tommy Lynn Sells, and how a crime writer’s correspondence closed many cases — plus we briefly revisit an old case of Emma’s! As for viewing for the week, Emma’s February break allowed us to binge a lot. We watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to celebrate Emma’s first college acceptance! We also watched Grosse Point Blank (one of Anish’s favs), but the big binge was Amazon Prime’s Hunters, about a group of Nazi killers in 1977. As for Liverpool FC, they lost the 1st leg of their Champions League tie against Athletic Madrid, but there is still the 2nd leg to play at Anfield!

  • Ep. 73: Don't Dream It's Over & Devil Inside
It’s episode 73! This week, Emma covers what she thought would be the wildest case of this episode — the famous disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Anish truly delivers with a paranormal story featuring a true crime twist, claiming the prize for most disturbing story this week. For this episode, he covers the Ossett Exorcism, which also raises the question: how does one even pronounce “demoniac”? We didn’t watch too many new things this week, but we did see Night of the Living Deb, a zombie horror comedy mix that’s perfect for when you need a good laugh. We also talk skiing, new trailers (“Stranger Things” and “I Am Not Okay With This”), and, of course, the latest Liverpool news.

  • Ep. 72: I've Just Seen A Face & Moneytalks
It’s episode 72! Emma has an in between tale this week. She takes us to Spain to discuss the Bélmez Faces, an alleged paranormal phenomenon where faces appeared in the concrete floors of a private home. Anish has a true crime story that is a rollercoaster ride of crazy; he discusses Pam Hupp and how she manipulated the weakest among her for money. As for viewing for the week, we just started watching Netflix’s Locke & Key! We are big fans of Joe Hill’s graphic novels and so far, we are very happy. On the lighter side, we started bingeing Disney+’s Gravity Falls and wonder how all the innuendo made past their censors ;) As for Liverpool FC, Anish got a big surprise during their two-week Winter Break!

  • Ep. 71: Nebraska & Message in a Bottle

Welcome to episode 71! We have a lot to talk about this week, including an incredible documentary and some great albums. Emma’s story should be categorized as a true crime classic; she discusses Charles Starkweather’s serial killing spree that may or may not include Caril Ann Fugate as an accomplice. Anish has a paranormal tale that inspired an 80s film and his fear of clowns. He discusses Popper the Poltergeist and its reign of fear over the Hermann Family. We watched a few things this week, The Good Place finale, Disney+’s Togo, Doctor Who, but the binge that left the greatest impression was Amazon Prime’s docuseries, Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer. Stop what you are doing and go watch it! Finally, the EPL winter break is upon us, but not before Liverpool FC secured another win!

  • Ep. 70: Skeletons & Not the Doctor
It’s episode 70! We have returned to our regular recording studio, the dining room table, this week ;) For your listening pleasure, Emma’s research this week led her to TripAdvisor and she discovered her next vacation venue, The Ancient Ram Inn — attractions include ritual skeletons and several paranormal rooms. Anish has a true crime story that take place in occupied Paris during WWII; his tale is about a narcotics addicted liar, thief, embezzler, and serial killer with a medical degree — Marcel Petiot, aka Doctor Satan. We are still falling behind our master binge list, but at least one of us saw Midsommar, The Velocipastor (no joke), Criminal Minds, and season 2 of Killing Eve. Anish saw his beloved Liverpool FC face their toughest opponent of the EPL season. However, they got the 3 points and are taking it one game at a time!

  • Ep. 69: Private Eyes & Freeze-Frame
Welcome to episode 69! We were in our makeshift studio up north in Maine and ended up lounging around on the couch as we recorded. We hope the quality is up to everyone’s professional standards ;) This week Emma has an inspiring story of how a victim’s best friend made every effort to help solve her murder, including becoming a private investigator. She discusses the murder & rape of Angela Samota. Anish has an in between tale that takes place on the plains in 1888 and brought horror to many, mostly children. His story is about the Children’s Blizzard aka the Schoolhouse Blizzard in the Midwest. We are still catching up on shows, but did get to watch a couple of new things - Amazon Prime’s Troop Zero, Netflix’s Sex Education (season 2), and an anime called The Promised Neverland. As for our Liverpool FC update, we continue on our quest for the title with a dominant 2-0 win against Man United :)
