Everything is Awesome

The world lost a great actor today—Michael Parks has passed at age 77. My first experience with Parks was in Kevin Smith's film, Red State. This episode, although not the perfect way to honor Parks, is our little way of celebrating the life and career Michael Parks gave us. We look back to the premiere of Red State with a review of it from myself and Garrett Smith from 2011 on our podcast SMonday Pod (later to be called Academic Nerds).

We've relaunched our Patreon! Instead of running multiple services to collect pledges for the things we do, we combined everything into ONE location. This will allow us to keep everything centralized, only ask for your support at one location, and better upgrade our entire operation. With your support, That's Entertainment and Everything is Awesome will be able to make upgrades to provide not only higher quality content but more of it. Thank you in advance for supporting us; it means the world to Kev and Mike. If you're unable to support us on Patreon, consider subscribing to Everything is Awesome on iTunes and leaving a 5-star text review or telling a friend--your Patreon pledges, iTunes reviews, and word of mouth recommendations go a long way at helping us do bigger and cooler things, like live shows, con appearances, and creating more high-quality content.

Everything is Awesome LATE NIGHT will be LIVE on June 4th, 2017 from 5p to 6p EST at Amalgam Comics and Coffeehouse in Philadelphia, PA! Part of The Unofficial Wizard World After Party, Mike and Kev will be discussing Wizard World Philly with special guests! Check out latenight.awesomepodcast.com for more details!

On this week's show, Kev takes a moment to talk about Everything is Awesome, That's Entertainment, and the newly launched That's Entertainment Podcast Network. Kev gets into the history of him trying to start a podcast network, the many plates he spins, and that led to the decision to focus on Everything is Awesome—and how doing that led to many awesome things.

This week we don't have one, but TWO interviews! First, we chat with Dan Tha Jeweler about being a musician and his new album that released on April 20th (2017) called Fijis & Forties. Next, we talk to Ferdinand Goetzen or Ferdi for short. He's a traveler, blogger, adventures, and has been to over 50 countries. He blogs about his travels with the message: You don't have to be rich to have a rich life.
