Everything is Awesome

Daniel Pierce, voice actor extraordinaire, joins me for part two this week. We discuss Once Upon a Time: The Rock Opera, and what we'd do with a sequel, his voice over work (and voice over work in general), and more!

Before we can even talk about our live show at Bridgeset Sound in Philadelphia on November 17th, 2016, we've got to talk about our LIVE show at The Producer's club in NYC! That's right, the boys are taking Late Night to New York on October 7th, 2016 at 10:00pm EST! We'll be on after the screening of Once Upon a Time: The Rock Opera! Tickets to our event are $15 (though, if you're going to the screening, you can save $5 by going to both) online and $17 at the door. Also, the podcast Once Upon a Wine will be performing after us, all part of the "Late Night Experience"! Two great shows for $15! Check it out at http://tickets.awesomepodcast.com!

We've launched our Patreon page. Patreon is a service that allows you, the Super Friends, to help support this show. This show will always be free, but with your help, we're looking to grow this show, which allows me to talk to cool and interesting people, into something beyond the specialness it is now. Thanks in advance if you're able to support-- other great ways of supporting this show-- 1) tell a friend! 2) Subscribe and Review on iTurns, that helps bring more eyes on the who, which in turn will allow us to do bigger and cooler things.

Daniel Pierce, voice actor extraordinaire, joins me this week. We discuss growing up, films that influenced us, and praise each other at least once. Oh... and he also plays Hercules in Once Upon a Time: The Rock Opera.

This week, I'm joined by Bernado Margulis, the host of This Makes Me Happy. I was a guest on his show during the 2016 Philadelphia Podcast Festival and we happened to talk for a bit after his live show. We decided he needed to be on my show, and we made it so. We chat about his origins, both in podcasting and in life (while I tread water very carefully), cultural differences, NYC, philosophies and more.

CHALLENGE: For International Podcast Day, I challenge you to record a podcast. It doesn't matter what it's about (as long as it's not evil), just record. Need help getting it out to the world? Send it to me and I'll air it here. Already podcasting? I challenge you to do something different. Something that you've wanted to try, but were to nervous or on the fence about doing. Just do it. September 30th, 2016 is coming up quick.

More details to come, but we'll be doing another LIVE show on November 17th, 2016 at Bridgeset Sound.

Here it is! Our first ever LIVE show is now ready for your ear holes. The format of the show changed for the live version-- I brought in a co-host, Mike DeAngelo from Tellest, and had TWO guests, Orlando Berrios, from Savage Personal Fitness, and Garrett Smith, Philadelphian stand up comedian and one of the hosts of I Like to Movie Movie. I'll be honest right off the bat, the opening of the show is slower than I would have liked. This live show was a big learning experience, so I'm sure the next one will be much tighter, but I still loved it. Thanks to Nathan and Teagan for putting this festival together, thanks to Steve from Bridgeset Sound for making us sound like professionals, thanks to Tattooed Mom for hosting us, and thanks to everyone involved with helping this show happen. From my guests and co-host to the Super Friends to my fiance, Jen, who was supported me through the entire month of prep I did-- you all helped make this happen.

More details to come, but we'll be doing another LIVE show on November 17th, 2016 at Bridgeset Sound.

Kev has been trying to make this interview happen for the last 15-20 weeks! And it's finally here-- fellow Philadelphian podcaster Dan Drago from 25 O'Clock joins Kev for the week! The guys talk about some podcasting history, Dan's past Philadelphia Podcast Festival experience, and get into Dan's origin as a podcaster and musician (with obvious super hero tangents along the way).

Part 2 of this conversation will be available on Friday, August 19th, but in the meantime, be sure to listen to Kev be a GUEST on Dan's podcast-- here's a convenient link!

On the first annual Everything is Awesome Remembers Robin Williams, Kev sits and reflects about Robin Williams the person. So many people have shared stories about his random acts of kindness that people, regardless of fame, tend to not have. Robin Williams brought smiles to the world and we lost a bit of laughter when he left. We're choosing to celebrate his life versus mourn, because, and I say this without knowing him personally, I think he'd want us to be smiling and laughing more than anything else today. Thank you Robin Williams, not just for entertaining us, but for being a good human being too.

First and foremost, if you suffer from depression, PLEASE talk to someone. Family, a friend, a stranger (just be careful with this one)... there are other options. If you're not comfortable talking to someone familiar, please call 1-800-273-8255 (the suicide prevention hotline). Call us at 267-223-4965 (though, I'd highly recommend emailing first (faster response) at [email protected]). Do anything but take that final step. There are people that care about you and strangers you've yet to encounter whose lives will change because of you.

Secondly, I'd like to apologize to the host of Podcast About Nothing. He was supposed to sit in on this and my schedule got in the way. I'll be sure to have him on another episode, but thank you for being the first to volunteer to be part of this. There's always next year.
