For the second time this week Beth, Ruchira and Oenone are in your ears talking all things pop culture.

First we're discussing Skincare- a film that sounds like it has all the active ingredients for glowing success. Elizabeth Banks stars as an aesthetician & skincare mogul whose life starts to wrinkle after being targeted on & offline. 5 stars or total wet flannel?

Next up we're examining the charm of middlebrow movies- e.g. the films that don't break the box office or re-invent cinema but are perfectly good nonetheless. Where did they go and can we have them back before the Marvel and Mattel takeover is complete?

Finally we're scrolling down under as Australia proposes plans to kick all kids off social media. The news has been met with both praise and criticism- could it actually do some good or is it too little too late from governments who haven't thought things through?

Also, would you sign up for an influencer academy? A New York Times feature dives into influencer Valeria Lipovetsky's new and exclusive scheme that promises to help budding influencers break into the industry. Is it a scam or a savvy business idea for everyone involved?

And finally, a "global gender divide" is sweeping the world, as experts warn that more and more young men are voting right, as young women vote progressively. A political split is widening between the two everywhere from the UK, to South Korea and Tunisia. Are we f****d as a society?

BOO - Beth, Ruchira and Oenone are back to scare you with some scarily-astute analysis of pop culture in time for Halloween week. First, just how much do they love horror as a genre? From memories of sleepovers and scary-movies, to the recent rise of artistic horrors with social commentary i.e. Jordan Peele's 'Get Out', they dive into their changing relationship to jump-scares and frightening films. Also, listen to hear their best horror recommendations across literature, TV and film.

A new meme has the internet in a chokehold. 'Gay Halloween' has radically changed the dressing-up landscape, with people boasting about their pop culture knowledge by donning the most obscure referential costume they can, so only the chronically online understand it. Is it fun or is it pretentious?

Finally, we can't forget the real world is full of horrifying things including recent stats that show a significant decline in birth rates. Should women bear the brunt of this societal issue? Whose responsibility is it that we're moving towards an ageing population?

We think most people have felt this is quite seismic, and wanted to look at how the coverage of this has seemed and felt so far, both in the papers and on social media.
