How does this happen, and how can we fix it? Sometimes, after a traumatic event, big life change, or period of prolonged stress, our body can get stuck in its fight or flight response, and this leads our body to de-prioritize vital systems like our digestive, immune, and reproductive systems. It takes time to get dysregulated, but with time, patience, and proper care we can restore our nervous system back to a state of peace and safety.
