Last night was the state dinner to end all state dinners — sea bass, Reagan china, red blossoms, a bald eagle statue, and a guest list stuffed with Musk, Huang, Altman, Bezos, Cook. Toasts to "friendship." Flyovers. Marine One. The whole opera. Behind the closed door it was not opera.
