Exciting and New

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Danny back on the show as they discuss the 1985 comedy/spy movie Gotcha!.   Do you need to put a period after the exclamation point, if the exclamation point is part of the title?  Anyway, Gilbert from Nerds is a college kid on the make in Europe and he hooks up with an American spy with the worst Czech accent on the planet.  There is some spy nonsense after that and I don't remember much after that.  It was kinda boring.  We rip on the cast a little, rip on the movie a little, rip on each other a little.  Even the most boring movie gives us some ammo to have fun.  Enjoy the podcast!.

Jason, Andy and Dana will discuss a 1986 movie weekly, breaking down all the nonsense there within. The 3 hosts all work together and everyone else around them was getting really annoyed at all the movie talk, so they decided to annoy the world in podcast form.

Check out previous seasons to hear them discuss 1982, 1983, 1984 & 1985 movies, as well as a full season of Love Boat episodes (if that is your thing). Plus one-off specials and a weekly mini "what are we watching" podcast.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Connor back on the podcast to discuss the 1985 teen drama The Legend of Billie Jean.  That's right, Dana finally gets her wish to do a movie she actually knows and likes.  Helen Slater and Christian Slater (surprisingly no relation) play siblings on the run because FAIR IS FAIR!!  Lisa Simpson tags along and drops an F Bomb, which is worth the price of admission alone.  Billie Jean becomes a cult hero to the youth of Texas as they flee across the state avoiding the police and parents, that are WAY too involved with the police's official business.  This was a fun one to discuss.  Enjoy the podcast.

Jason, Andy and Dana welcome back Connor to the podcast as they discuss what they were up to this past week.  The Legend of Billie Jean coming this Wedneday.

Due to a technical "glitch" the first couple minutes of the mini were lost to the ages.  Remember kids, always charge your batteries.  We join the mini after Jason and Andy discussed Legos for a few minutes.

This week on the Exciting & New Podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mike back on the show to discuss the 1985 comedy, National Lampoon's European Vacation.   That's right, we are back on vacation with Griswold’s (or is it Griswald?  Maybe it's Greaseball).  Clark and Ellen drag their kids to the old country where hilarity happens.  And then it doesn't.  There is some gold in this one, but it is a weaker entry in the Vacation franchise, which might be explained by the absence of Cousin Eddie.  There is a Python popping up from time to time, but even he can't get a laugh out of this horse, no matter how hard he beats it.  There are some very unfortunate fashion choices along the way, and Johnny is going to sweep the leg and send Audrey home in a body bag.  Enjoy the podcast.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mike back on the podcast as they discuss the 1985 "teen" comedy Just One of the Guys.  In this gender bending comedy, Terry finds out that only men get the good journalist jobs.  Someday soon, she will find out that she has entered a dead field of study.  Hopefully she finds this out in time to switch her profession.  They should do a follow-up movie where we find out what she is up to 40 years later.  Just 2 of the Guys.  Maybe her daughter needs to dress like a man to become blogger or win an election.  See Warner Bros, I just gave you a good idea for one of these legacy sequels.  Get on it.  And enjoy the podcast.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana are flying solo (can 3 people fly solo?) as they discuss the 1985 comedy Teen Wolf.  This movie stars Marty McFly, freshly back from 1955, with a strange side effect to time travel.... he is a Teen Wolf.  This movie has the Michael J Fox charm for sure, but there just seems to be something missing.  It might be the supporting cast, which is lacking compared to BTTF.  But there is still a lot to like about this movie, and we all had a lot of fun discussing this one.  Enjoy the podcast!
