Exciting and New

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Dan back on the podcast as they discuss the 1985 comedy Spies Like Us.  As we roll into the Summer of Chase, we get our first look at Prime Chevy along with Cuck Dan.  Honestly how odd is it to cast your wife in a movie you wrote, but have her hooking up with your Co-Star.  Weird, right?  I guess even in the movie world it seemed odd to have Donna Dixon hooking up with a nerd like Dan Aykroyd.  Anyway, there are some Russian in this one but the American turn out to be the bad guys.  Just like last week, there was a difference of opinions when it came to the scores for this movie, but more toward the positive side.  Enjoy the podcast.

Jason, Andy and Dana will discuss a 1986 movie weekly, breaking down all the nonsense there within. The 3 hosts all work together and everyone else around them was getting really annoyed at all the movie talk, so they decided to annoy the world in podcast form.

Check out previous seasons to hear them discuss 1982, 1983, 1984 & 1985 movies, as well as a full season of Love Boat episodes (if that is your thing). Plus one-off specials and a weekly mini "what are we watching" podcast.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Jim back on the podcast as we discuss the 1985 surreal comedy Brazi.  This one was a divisive one (at least from the point of veiw of one person).  A little too Monty Python for some, a little too batshit crazy for others.  Robert DeNiro for some reason shows up.  There's a Hobbit (or is he an Android) and Super Mario shows up.  This move was a weird one.  Apparently this is part 2 of Terry Gilliam's "Trilogy of Imagination".  If this is what he is imagining, I feel sorry for this guy when he closes his eyes to go to sleep at night.  Anyway, the podcast is just about as weird as the movie we are discussing.  Enjoy!

On a very special episode of the Exciting & New Podcast, Andy is joined by Logan and Cameron as they try to find out what 8 year olds are up to in 2025.  We dive into Logan's love life and listen to Uncle Thomas do a magic trick (riveting Podcast material).  This was done because Cameron wanted to be on the podcast.  Cam, I hope your dad lets you listen to this.  It is rated PG.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Mike (first repeat guest of the year) back on the podcast, as we discuss the 1985 comedy Real Genius.  This is our Val Kilmer tribute to the recently late star.  The movie might not be the best, but Val is at HIS best in this one.  Some of the 80s scummier bad guys show back up in this one as...scummy bad guys.  And some random nerds from other nerdier (and better) movies are here as well.  It might not be the best comedy of 1985, but we had fun discussing it.  Enjoy the podcast!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Logan back on the podcast as they discuss the 1985 comedy Brewster's Millions.   In this Richard Pryor vehicle, a way-past-his-prime baseball pitcher inherits an insane amount of money.   But first he must spend an insane amount of money.   John Candy is the awesome best friend.  Stephen Collins is the child molester (in real life, not this movie).   We all have a great time discussing how we would spend $30 million and agree it wouldn't be that hard.   This movie holds up.  Enjoy the podcast!

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana welcome Zach back on the show as they discuss the 1985 legal drama Jagged Edge.  The Dude maybe or may not have killed his wife, and Glenn Close is going to do everything she can to find out the truth, including sleeping with her client.  Robert Loggia (you know, R as in Robert Loggia) plays Glenn's seedy man on the street, hired to dig up all the dirt.  Good cast, boring movie.   You know we will put our Exciting (eh?) spin on this one.  Enjoy the podcast.
