In my previous article, “One more thing on the lax Exeter financial record controls”, I revealed that the former Assistant Township Manager for Exeter Township went to a professional development conference three weeks before leaving for a job with Schuylkill Township in Chester County. After a tip from a reader, and a Google search, it was confirmed that Laurie Getz has been promoted to Township Manager for Schuylkill Township as of May 2022. 

 On June 15th, I wrote an article about the loose financial controls in Exeter Township government, “EXETER TOWNSHIP SHOWS LAX FINANCIAL CONTROLS”. 

In all candor, I went snooping looking for one thing, and came out with another. 

According to figures provided from an analysis of golf course revenue and expenditures by Exeter Supervisor Dave Hughes, the Redding Country Club golf course has lost $3.1 million in the last four years, 5.9 million if you include the debt service.

  In an interview on “The Exeter Underground”, Exeter Township Supervisor Ted Gardella admitted that “we are not very good at transparency right now, we are just not”.

  The Exeter Township Supervisors put some meat on the bones of their objections to the Perkiomen Ave Phase 2 project in their June 6th meeting.

The Exeter Supervisors will be holding what is termed a “special meeting” on Monday June 6th.
