The Bible says that God will not withhold any good thing from those who love Him. In the garden, God withheld the knowledge of good and evil from Adam and Eve. He even forbade them from eating the tree that would open their eyes to that knowledge. Is that unloving? Wouldn’t it have been better to give Adam and Eve all the knowledge upfront? No, certainly not. God withheld the knowledge of good and evil because it wasn’t a good thing. The only thing knowledge of evil would bring them was temptation, sin, and death.
