Extra Noir Podcast

After years in the London entertainment industry, the solo artist known as Pecht adopted a cryptic new identity and recorded his debut LP in exile on the north coast of Scotland. Like a Lovecraftian mystery unfolding in a Soho nightclub, the album references giallo and horror soundtracks, retro synth sounds and the hauntological explorations of Ghost Box Records. An ideal piece of arcana for Extra Noir's cabinet of curios.

The latest release from Extra Noir. An invisible, candy-flavored contagion, Yetsuby's music will burrow deep into your brain, lingering like a benevolent invader. Combining a surreal sensibility with perfect pop hooks, and reflecting Seoul's nocturnal futurism, Heptaprism marks the full-length debut of Yetsuby, one of South Korea's most unorthodox electronic artists.

Our December episode has a slightly accidental preponderance of music from 1980s Japan, including tracks from Mariah, Morio Agata and Richochet. In between you'll find music at least one Korean selection, some German synthpop, a Eurythmics cover and something related to Throbbing Gristle.
