In the first century many people were telling many stories about Jesus. The same has been true throughout church history. Some were saying, “Yes. I’ve heard stories about Jesus, but I have concluded that Jesus wasn’t really a man. He was more of a semi-god who only took the appearance of humanity. He wasn’t truly human.” Others were saying, “Oh, he was a man but that’s all he was. He was the son of Joseph and Mary and he was very wise but there was nothing divine about him.” But these people never met Jesus. Should we trust them to tell the truth about someone they never met?
