One of the biggest lies we learn as children is, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” At this time, I must make an honest correction and a solid confession: Words hurt so badly, that at times, the harsh words of others can break your spirit, but never the living spirit of God. I want to announce to you today, ‘Never allow other people and their negative stuff to interfere with you, your walk with God or your assignment.’ God has Blessed you with purpose and endowed you with power, as the word has declared in Acts 1:8 “ But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:” At times we will experience hurt, but in the fortitude of God’s spirit, never be broken!

Now is the time that we must recognize our duty and responsibility to train and care for our youth; shielding them from all hurt, harm and danger. Each time another parent, adult, politician, or just another concerned citizen decides to negate the mask mandate in a public-school setting, we abuse, neglect and place our children in harm’s way. During these ominous times of the ever-changing Covid virus, it is imperative that political and academic leaders, parents, school officials, and the general public all work together. Far above making political points or demanding parental rights to make decisions for children, we must prioritize the safety of all our children.

In the midst of such great storms, it is so easy to get distracted and lose our sense of peace. Yet God’s word in Philippians 4:7 reminds us to “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” If we trust Him and let Him know about ALL our struggles, desires, matters and needs, He will keep our hearts and minds in perfect peace!!
