faces in the clouds podcast

I had the honor of being FriskyRadio's Artist of the Week at some point, last month. The lads asked me to do a two-hour mix. It's summer time, so this mix is horny as fuck. In the summer time, the party begins when the horns sound. Until you hear horns playing, the party has not begun. Period. Tell all your friends.

Download the fuck out of those horns.

This is science, it's fact. People often respond with a disgustingly stupid "huh?" type answer when I present them with this obviousness, but then either minutes, hours, or days later, always come back to me with the same resounding response: "OMG, I Never noticed all of those horns....thats crazy.... wow" - there you go.

Horns. Everywhere. They're all yours.

So now we get it. It's not a fucking party until there are horns. Right?!

Kthx.

I love all of you, because you're all amazing. Yes, you! <3

When the opportunity to DJ a live yoga session sprang about, I was immediately intrigued. The experience was as lovely and challenging as I thought it would be, for there's a fine balance between crafting a set that enhances one's experience during their session, and one that could damper one's experience or become a distraction.

I think I towed the line well, and the feedback from participants confirmed this. Thanks to Align Brooklyn studio for having me! Here is the set, minus a few minutes as I forgot to hit record during the first song.

Namaste' :-)

On the eve of officially announcing the launching of eyedyllic music, a special boutique digital and limited vinyl imprint, I decided to do as I did last year and record a mix on independence day.

As always you can expect as many classics as you can new records, and this one may be the first set I've released with 3, count em!, 3 Henrik Schwarz cuts... Recorded at home in Brooklyn following an inspiring set from Soul Clap and Wolf+Lamb, the funk is nasty but the groove moves on.

As always, there's a bit of a story to tell here, but it's mostly about good damn music.

Here is my guest mix from http://frisky.fm on their FeelinFrisky show.

Will be launching a new show on frisky radio very soon, so stay tuned!

Here is a real throwback which was not previously in my archives, it was actually the most popular mix I think I've ever done at the time, it somehow ended up reaching somewhere upwards of 120,000 downloads or so, which was weird for a guy in his parent's house making music on a shitty PC laptop.

Exposure NYC was run by Lee Johnson, and I am pretty sure that most of the guys who also had a show on that channel are already well known or on their way to becoming such, in this little global electronic music bubble we live in.

Dont remember tracklist, but enjoy a trip back in time 8 years to June 2009, when labels like Freak n Chic, 8bit, and people like deadmau5 were still not yet THAT famous. :)

thanks to @debbierose for providing this long lost missing piece of my archives!

R.I.P. Club Love... one of the best sound systems this city has seen in awhile! Thanks to DJ @debbierose for providing this set I was entirely unaware even existed!

Letherette - LANGSETTE (Kev Obrien's Raconteur Floor'd Edit) by Kev Obrien

Throwback to February, 2013...... It took DAYS of searching to find this mix because the original platform it was recorded for was banned by Soundcloud and lost all their content.

Heartfelt music transcends time, meaning, and relevance. My first language is music, and to know me --- is to know my music, and vice versa. Over the years, I've received messages from quite possibly 50 or more amazing souls around the world describing the way this set and the ones to follow in it's path that year, have impacted them in their own personal way.

This is dedicated to YOU.

It was the unofficial first mix in the Series, which was a year-long series of vocal-heavy mixes that told my story in real time during one of the most trying years of my life.

I am glad to finally have this mix uploaded after many long nights searching for it online, so that entire series in complete on my own soundcloud.

I love you, and want you in my soul. Yes, you. ---- thank you all for so many years of support.

This one is a 3 hour journey from 110bpm electronica into electronic pop, deep house, on down eventually to 125bpm techno and progressive. It's one of my favorite sets I can recall putting together. Hope y'all enjoy!

Here is my second EP that I am releasing here on Soundcloud as a free gesture to all of you who've supported me over the years. For those who are into these tunes which mean a lot to me on a personal level, all I ask in return is your kindness in reposting and sharing!

These 4 cuts were all produced during the course of a dissolving romantic relationship in the year leading up to my 2-year hiatus, and each hold a specific place in my heart. It brings me much joy to share them with the world in all of their raw, unfinished glory.

"Dreaming Her Love Away" is the one I hold closest to my heart, the title explains as much as the emotion in the music ever could. Life in the music industry is strenuous on almost any relationship, and in those cases from the angle of the artist, we all tend to realize when our work on one specific piece of music helped drive the one we loved so far away.

"Get A Grip on that Heart" was produced soon after my return to NYC from Berlin in 2013, while still processing the end of the love that was already long lost and dreamt away almost a year prior. The "Avenue T Gutter Dub" offers a more gritty and heads down rendition to those not into the original's vibe.

"Requiem for a Reconciliation" is a bit different than most of the productions I was doing at the time, inspired by my emotional malaise upon return to the States, and completely inspired by the sound that I found solace in during our time in Berlin.

Enjoy!
