This week we bring you the tale of one of the most evil men in Australia's history. Vincent O'Dempsey, a criminal entrepreneur with no scruples whatsoever, was a feared figure in Queenesland's underworld through the 60's and 70's. That was up until he became too much even for that scene and retired to a 'hobby' farm in the country. In part 1, we take you up to that point and the intersection with our Whiskey Au Go Go Fire series.

On March 8th 1973 a rampant inferno tore through nightclub, the Whiskey Au Go Go in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, killing 15 and injuring plenty more. Somehow, a good part of Australia's underworld at the time has been linked to it. This week, we detail the event and the backstory of the prolific criminal that was John Stuart, the man who prophesied the whole thing.

We also go back to 2001 where Australia was united with Sef Gonzales in grief after his parents and sister, Clodine were brutally murdered in their suburban home. We take a look at who the Gonzales' were, their migration to Australia and the events leading up to the horrors that would occur on 10 July 2001.

We start the impossible task of unpacking the complex character that is Sef Gonzales and see how his partiality for stretching the truth would get him in trouble over and over. And while the musical ability that he kindly shared through his a cappella band Definite Vibez was questionable, one thing is for certain, he definitely had a darker side.
