The good news is it's not hard to capture great sound for your podcast outside of a professional recording studio. All you need is: a dynamic microphone (which will reduce background noise significantly), a small, soft, quiet space to record (a closet, your car, in a blanket fort-- really), and proper microphone technique (check your microphone's instructions for appropriate use). The great thing is the environment and technique are practically cost-free solutions. If someone had pointed that out to me in 2014, it would have saved me a lot of time, money, and frustration
