Hello, Fairy Sleepers! This Scottish Fairy tale was adapted and written by Elizabeth W. Grierson  in her book "The Scottish Fairy Book." However, the lore of this story is thousands of years old and influenced several songs, books, and folklore that is well over two thousand years old. More recently the story led to the creation of another adaptation. One of my favorite songs "Scarborough Fair" by Simon and Garfunkel, is based on this story even though the actual Scarborough Fair is a traditional English folk song from the Middle Ages, referring to an old fair in Scarborough, Yorkshire. The folklore of The Elfin Knight story led to their interpretation. I hope the story makes you very Fairy Sleepy! Keep an ear out for next week's story "The Glory of the Invisible Kingdom" a fairy tale about dreams. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarborough_Fair_(ballad)

Happy Wednesday Fairy Sleepers! January 1st was not just New Year's Day it was also public domain day! That means several new stories have been added to the public domain, including one of my favorite children's stories and characters Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne Book 1. Sadly my favorite character wasn't in this version or you would have heard a story with Tigger in it. Maybe next year? I hope Chapters 1 and 3 help you be very Fairy Sleepy! Have a wonderful week and keep an ear out for next week's story Cedric's Unaccountable Adventure where Cedric gets the key to Fairyland and as you can imagine has quite the adventure. Until then...goodnight :-)

Happy New Year Fairy Sleepers!! Welcome to Season 2 of Fairy Sleepy. 2021 was quite a year for all of us but we begin anew in 2022. This story is a modified version of the entire story of King Arthur and the author is unknown. This version was one I had not heard before but with so many different versions to choose from, there had to be several out there I hadn't ever read. Join me in this version of the adventure and I wish you all a truly Happy New Year! Thank you for ALL the support, comments, and downloads, and I hope this version makes you very Fairy Sleepy! Here's to 2022!
