Prayer of the Week:

Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve those challenged by serious and chronic mental and emotional illnesses.   Give your power of healing to those who minister to their needs, that they may be strengthened in their weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Join me this week as we learn a little about St. Therese of Lisieux - "The Little Flower" of the "Little Way."  St. Therese is one of my favorite Saints. She knew, early on, that there was no way she could do ALL that needed to be done to become a "Saint." So, she devised the "Little Way." Taking each and every action of her everyday life and turning it into a sacred moment of practice to offer to the Divine. We can learn SO much from St. Therese!  We can do as she did!

A Prayer to Saint Therese for Help

Thérèse of Lisieux, you said that you would spend your time in heaven doing good on earth. Pray for me that I, like you, may have great and innocent confidence in the loving promises of our God. Pray that I may live my life in union with God's plan for me, and one day see the Face of God whom you loved so deeply. Amen!

Woo-wee!  This week I have an incredible blessing for you!  Metropolitan (Archbishop) Anthony Bloom or (aka Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh) was best known as a writer and broadcaster on prayer and the Christian life. He was a monk and Metropolitan bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church. This is, no doubt a doubt it, one of the greatest and deepest beings we have explored thus far!  So, make a cup of tea, grab a blanket snuggle up in your favorite chair...listen, soak this up and enjoy!

The Jesus Prayer...The most widely accepted form of the prayer is “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me.” It reflects the biblical idea that the name of God is sacred and that its invocation implies a direct meeting with the divine.

The Merton Prayer

My Lord God,

And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road,

though I may know nothing about it.

I will not fear, for you are ever with me,

St. Bernadette was born in Lourdes, France on January 7, 1844. Her parents were very poor and she was the first of nine children. As a toddler, Bernadette contracted cholera and suffered extreme asthma. Unfortunately, she lived the rest of her life in poor health.

The Blessed Mother appeared to St. Bernadette 18 times, between February 11 and July 16 of 1858.

St. Bernadette's short life was filled with much suffering. Her story is amazing, enlightening, and inspirational. Have a listen!

Join me this week as we explore the Truly Amazing (I know I say that all the time - but it's True) Sri Anandamayi Ma (Sri Ma). Sri Ma (1896-1982) is one of the greatest saints of the 20th Century. She was born in present-day Bangladesh. She was a person of remarkable piety, sanctity, and wisdom, she came to the notice of both simple people and famous figures of India. She did not have an outer guru (Teacher) and emphasized the importance of detachment from the world. She encouraged her devotees to serve others. An ecstatic child of ecstatic parents, she became a famous Saint, who like many other female Indian Saints, stood on the edge of several religious traditions, and in the midst of none. She influenced the spirituality of thousands of people who came to see her throughout her long life.
