Faith and More Podcast

Born in Brush Creek, Missouri on April 1, 1854, John Augustus Tolton began life with the odds stacked against him. He began life without his God-given rights of freedom, dignity and equality; he began life not as a human being, but as someone’s personal property-as a slave of a white Catholic family. Listen this week, as we learn more about the most Venerable Father Augustus Tolton, the first black American Priest!  His story will inspire you - regardless of your race and/or faith!

Welcome to the October Edition of The Book Nook! This is the last Book Nook of the season! This month we revisit some previous Book Nook topics, where I am on my studies, secret time, and so much more!

There is SO much I want to share with ALL of you!  However, I do not want to take up too much of your time. I love reading/studying books/sacred texts, prayer/meditation, music, incense, essential oils, and much more!  Once a month I will be uploading an episode of "The Book Nook" where I will share these and more things with you!  It will also be a good filler for a mid-week/mid-month when you just can't wait for another episode!

This week we touch on a very touchy subject...abuse...and how that poisons our lives. More so, we talk about how to reclaim our lives, heal from abuse, find strength, courage, and discover self-love. We also talk about the importance of getting help, where to get help, and finding the strength to take that first step of help and healing.

Happy anniversary/birthday everyone! This podcast is 1 year old - as of September 5th (the day after this show airs)! Infinite thanks, blessings, and love to ALL of you for your love and support for this podcast! We wouldn't be here without you!!

I can think of no better Saint to showcase on this special show than the Truly Amazing...St. Theresa of Avila! St. Theresa is not only a Saint she is a Doctor of the Roman Catholic Church! And...the very first woman to be named a "Doctor of the Church!" Her story is fantastical and Truly Amazing! You won't want to miss this one!

I absolutely cannot recommend this prayer enough! It was our closing prayer/guided meditation on this show. It is SO simple but VERY powerful! Prayer of Recollection by St. Teresa of Avila
