1 Thessalonians 1:6-10

Here we see the power of changed lives. The change in the Thessalonians was so profound that it spread faster than words. The stories of their faith set the table for the advance of the gospel through an entire region.

1 Thessalonians 1:4-8

Paul is encouraged by this young church because he knows they are loved and chosen by God. He knows this because he sees the power of the Holy Spirit at work in the way the gospel was proclaimed with conviction, received with joy, and resulted in changed lives.

1 Thessalonians 1:1-3

Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians is one of encouraging a young church by reminding them of what God has done in them, the example that was set for them, and what their faith means to others. It’s an encouragement to not let up, to press on in following Jesus more and more.
