In this episode I discuss the importance of building relationships with athletes to influence a stronger culture within your sports program. By building relationships with your athletes, you invest into them as people and not just athletes. This creates a stronger bonds with you and your athletes, which in turn allows them to work harder, perform better, and more likely to adhere to coaching demands. Discussing the advantages of slanting the defensive line, EVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BASE OUT OF A SLANTING FRONT. We discuss my transition from a 4-3 Read and React defensive system into my love for slanting, which I now run within a 3-4 defensive system. Figure out a way to get more athletes on the field, without limiting them to a box of qualifications for your base stuff.
