When she ran into a woman sharing information describing a new childcare program in her area, she never thought she would qualify.  But she did! After learning what it meant to be a part of a program to bridge the gap for kiddos between preschool ages and kindergarten with her own children, Rebecca's love for children grew into an lifelong path only God can pave.

This week we talk to my longtime childhood friend, Rebecca Connell, about her personal as well as career journey with Head Start. Rebecca shares the benefits, challenges and resources to families available thru this government program started in the LBJ era in the 1960’s.

From childcare worker, Center Director and other positions in between, this current HR Director for Cornerstone Community Action Agency, shares how each step led to the next in an amazing story of a developed passion grown through years from personal experience, fostered into a love of children and resulting in hard work for the benefit of children at risk and their families.
