This week, Sarah shares her story of God’s faithfulness, calling her out of public education, to her work with a local non-profit with arms that reach across the world.  Sharing physical resources with ‘hope and healing to the least of these’ through child sponsorships to children in countries outside the US, the ultimate goal with this non-profit is to share God’s love and bring life changing relationships to the kids and families they encounter.

Through sponsorships, local ministries and mission trips, The 25 Project is hard at work showing others the love of Jesus, meeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs or those identified in need in their areas of influence. Sarah’s story of answering God’s call is a beautiful one!

I’m not sure about you, but conflict is never fun. But then sometimes, it’s necessary.

So what does conflict over your beliefs look like and how do you handle it?  What do you base your beliefs on and are you willing to stand up and speak out for them?  On this week’s episode I chat with Dr. Christina Crenshaw, a English Department lecturer at Baylor University, active participant and teacher in the fight against Human Trafficking, a Cultural Engagement and Leadership Fellow at Dallas Theological Seminary, mom, wife and believer in Christ, who recently found herself in the middle of a social media firestorm.

Dr. Crenshaw has a great story of God’s faithfulness in the middle of conflict, a gracious and forgiving perspective and a love of the truth of God’s word.  Her care of students entrusted to her makes me a thankful college parent for adults in the world of academia, who are ready to engage others in civil discourse, point to truth and love them with the love of God.

I can’t wait for you to hear her story!  It's a picture of truth in an uncomfortable struggle that can accompany a believer's walk, the importance of standing for beliefs based on a biblical perspective and the reflection of Christ in our daily goal to raise our children to know him fully!

Have you ever been to a family reunion or better yet, planned one?

I mean tons of people and loads of good food, games, people talking to you like they’ve known you forever and you have NO idea who they are?  If not, boy do I have a challenge for you.

When I thought and prayed about ideas for a show, Kim Bailey, former coworker and dear friend, was one of the first people God brought to mind! For years I was intrigued by tales of summers filled with family reunions, time spent with immediate and extended family (we're talking upwards of 250 people, mind you) and was in awe that those things actually still happen and the extent to which they were planned!

So when was the last time you went to a family reunion?  I guarantee you haven’t been to one like this, at least I bet it’s been too long (thanks COVID).  Family is such a gift from God and this last year has shown us how important our physical presence is to each other through this past years' inability to be together, even when doing so out of love and care for each other. I don't know about you, but I've missed my immediate and extended family more than ever.
