When Yeshua (Jesus) taught the disciples how to pray- His words were more than just something for us to copy in our moments of prayer. They were a guide to teach us the steps to functional prayer.
“And He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in the heavens, let Your Name be set-apart, let Your reign come, let Your desire be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into trial, but rescue us from the wicked one.” Luqas (Luke) 11:2-4 TS2009
As we discussed in this episode- this instruction can be broken down into three key parts:
•acknowledging YHWH’s (God’s) power & station
•showing appreciation for all the He has done
•making the request for what you need
If you can hold on to this instruction && apply it to your own prayer life, you will be amazed at the words that flow out of your mouth to The Most High!
If you need further guidance on HOW to pray to our Father in Heaven- recall that the Psalms are like taking a step into the writer’s prayer closets. There you will find the progression of prayer from moments of lamentation to praise. From Thanksgiving to worship. From kingship to wisdom.
Praying the Psalms is a perfect way to get yourself accustomed to praying to The Most High. Studying the Psalms will show you how Yah (God) is beside us, goes before us, exists all around us, reigns above us, and is very clearly among us!
*This episode mentions the Kajabi community that we used to have- unfortunately, we found that utilizing Kajabi as our platform was confusing to access for listeners. Because of this, we no longer have that community. We will be utilizing the comment section for now- or you can find us both involved in the Rooted in His Word Ministry You can contact the Ministry to join us in small group settings!
Here in the comments you can join in on the conversation taking place as well as leave prayer requests and suggestions for future episodes. We want this study time to be one that helps you where you struggle- so don’t hesitate to let us know where that is.
As always- remember faith is a verb
