Citizenship matters. Paul wrote to Christians in Philippi who understood the benefits of being Roman citizens, and he reminded them that Christians are citizens of heaven. In this reading, he encourages all of us to live up the calling we have received, and to let our heavenly citizenship define our daily walk and our eternal hopes.
