Scripture: Luke 22:20-23:5, This teaching contrasts the difference between the two cups: one given for you (22:20), by Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and the other, the cup of God's wrath (22:42), where Jesus prayed "Father, if you are willing remove this cup from me". The betrayal of Judas is contrasted with Peter's three denials of Jesus. The "night trial" of Jesus before the elders, chief priests and scribes is examined where they asked Jesus: "If you are the Christ, tell us." We learn that that similar words are spoken to Jesus by Satan when tempting Him, "If you are the Son of God....". See Luke 4:3 and 4:9.
