Prayer is warfare. Prayer is an act of subversion against the world. Prayer is rebellion against the devil. It's a skill that can be developed but also a skill that is perishable. A modest daily routine of morning, mealtimes, and evening prayers is a good habit to shoot for.
A key feature of American Christianity is Mission Crisis. It is a constant worry over doing enough 'churchy' stuff. Every conversation has to be about 'sharing Jesus' or correcting your fellow Christians. The normal stuff of daily life is put on the back-burner. But this anxiety is rooted in faithlessness. Jesus has not authorized us to worry.
