We praise our generous God. 1.We commend God's works to the next generation. -v.1-7-2.We give thanks to God for His love- -v.8-13-3.We make God known to others. -v.14-21-

Fear of man means we are controlled by what others think.By fearing God, we stop fearing man, even when facing fiery trials from man.1.By fearing God today, we conquer fear of man today, which will help us to conquer it tomorrow. -v.8-16- 2. By fearing God, we confidently trust His power. -v.17- 3. By fearing God, we submit to His will. -v.18-

Because Christ has justified us by faith, we are standing in grace.--1. We have peace with God- -v.1---2. We have access to God and His grace- -v.2a---3. We are rejoicing in hope of the glory of God. -v.2b-

Since God gave us the tongue of the wise, God-s wisdom should be heard in our words.--1. Asking the right question in the right tone, shows that God alerts us to the importance of situations.--2.Speaking to the right person shows that we respect God-s authority structure by His wisdom.--3.Insisting that our wisdom comes from God is a sure sign of the tongue of the wise.

True faithfulness is not first flashy and front-page, but rather is first exercised in private and in small things, where we humbly take a stand for God. What sort of stand---Timely - deciding without delaying or negotiating. -v.8- --Modest - being faithful without being obnoxious. -v. 9-11- --Confident - that God will glorify Himself in our stand. -v.12-16-

Principle- the way we think determines the way we live.--What are the tactics of the enemy to attack your thoughts- --Isolation - to separate you from godly influence.--Indoctrination - to get you to remove God from your view of life. --Compromise - to find out whether you can be bought, and if so, with what. The subtle attack is more lethal--Confusion - to even have you wonder who you are.

We remain encouraged, knowing that our God controls all, and always accomplishes His purposes for us.--1. The young developing character of future heroism. --2. Two viewfinders- human history and redemptive history. --3. The battles of history and their meaning.

Some are workaholics, while others -live for the weekend.- How can we balance or bowl a strike---We work six days and keep one day in holy rest. This points us back to the creation itself and points us ahead to the cross and to heaven, we are called to enjoy both work and rest, in a beautiful dance. --1. Christians keep the Lord-s Day holy because God completed His work in six days and rested on the seventh day. -ch.1 v.31 - ch.2 v.2- --2. Christians keep the Lord-s Day holy because God blessed and hallowed the seventh day. -v.3---3. Christians keep the Lord-s Day holy because we were created in the image of God, and Christ redeemed us back to reflecting it. -v.3-

Because the Lord is leading us, we must follow.--1. Trust the Lord-s current providential leading. -v.1-4---2. Expect daily pain on our cross-shaped pathway. -v.5-8---3. Die to your rabbit trails, and enjoy His provisions. -v.9-11-

Christ has surrounded us with wise people, so that we seek their advice and gain wisdom. --1. Consult the wise. --2. Stop following the previous bad advice. --3. What to do when you get conflicting advice.
