Christ has given us His Spirit so that we know and understand His thoughts, His wisdom and His mind--1. Our access to the thoughts of God. -v.11-12--2. Our ability to know spiritual wisdom. -v.13-15--3. Our incredible gift of the mind of Christ- -v.16-

The decision of Jesus to appoint twelve men as apostles was for godly purposes that impacted the world. How--1. They had Jesus as their companion- -2. They preached Jesus.-3. They had authority, together with Jesus.

1. Parents- -Hint- realize when-where God designed for parenting to take place. Deut.6-7.-Help- This is not a license to be an inescapable nag. Eph. 6-4-2. Grandparents--Hint- accept the amount of access to your grandkids, that God gave.-Help- yours is an assistant role. 2 Cor. 2-14-16. Aroma- -3. Parents- Hint- Make disciples of Jesus. Matthew 28-18-20 - Help- Be one yourself. Romans 2-28-29-4. Grandparents- -Hint- to give or NOT to give the parents advice. Pray, and go slow.-Help- a- give less advice than you think. b- accept the results. Col.3-20. -5. Parents- Hint- get some rest. -Help- come to Jesus to find it. Mt.11-28-30

Jesus withdrew, because of threats and hindrances to His life and His ministry.-Withdrew to the sea, but a great crowd followed. -v.7-8--Planned to withdraw to a boat, because of crowd pressure- -v.9-10--Withdrew from more public attention by silencing ungodly agendas. -v.11-12-

The Lord of the Sabbath demonstrated how to receive His rest and to do good.-Ever ready to criticize or to help others- -v.1-2--Hiding behind rule-keeping or caring for people- -v.3-4- -Hard-heartedness and hatred on the Sabbath, or right responses, right words and actions, and relieving those who suffer- -v.5-6-

Equipping - you already have what you need - the compassion of Jesus Christ.-Mark 16-1-7 The compassion of Jesus for Peter is a model for us.-Luke 22-54-61 Jesus' look at Peter was compassion.

God gave us weekly Sabbaths as a refreshing gift on our way to heaven.-1. Disciples picked grain on the Sabbath. -v.23--2. Pharisees challenged. -v.24--3. Jesus taught about The Sabbath-a- from the good example of David. -v.25-26--b- from God's creative purpose. -v.27--c- from Jesus' authority. -v.28-

What is more important than shaping the souls of the next generation--Psalm 78-1-8 especially verse 7.-All of the Bible applies to parenting and grandparenting.-Matthew 22-36-39 What is the most important thing- Love God and love others.-Matthew 6-19-34 What are the things of highest importance to your heart-- What to do about competing treasures- -Deuteronomy 6-4-9 What should parents do, primarily- Teach the Word--What is the role of the grandparents- The best thing a grandparent can do for your grandchildren is to love the parents. -Who is the center of your universe- -Family - temporary authority in the home, until children reach adulthood. -Grandparents - have influence and to be honored, but do not have direct authority.-Genesis 2-24 Three levels-Grandparents -his father and his mother--Parents -a man-his wife--Children -young- --hold fast...become one flesh--Key - the relationship of parents to the grandparents. Don't confuse the kids-

We are all blessed to be called by Christ, and we can thank God for each other's rich and various gifts.-1. Thank God for the gifts given to the church. -v.4-5--2. Thank God that the church does not lack any gift. -v.6-7--3. Thank God for future blessings, all the way to the end. -v.8-9-

Jesus' purpose in coming was to call sinners to Himself.-1. Calling one sinning tax-gatherer to follow. -v.13-14--2. Eating with the many following, sinning tax-gatherers. -v.15--3. Explaining that the purpose of the Physician of souls is to heal sin-sick people. -v.16-17-
