Think Like a Freak by Steven D. Levitt, Stephen J. Dubner -  3 key lesson learned from book

Think Like A Freak teaches you how to reject conventional wisdom as often as possible, ask the right questions about everything and come up with your own, statistically validated answers, instead of relying on other peoples’ opinions or common sense.

    Just a recap,

If you want to be right, you have to be willing to be unpopular.

Observe how incentives drive human behavior in the real world to solve problems creatively.

Conventional wisdom is often wrong, so letting go of it will make you happier.

Hi, welcome to this podcast: Famous Book Lessons & Summaries

Today we will be looking at  Top 5 lesson learned from book - “Man's search for meaning” by Viktor Frankl

Man's search for meaning by Viktor Frankl - Top 5 lesson learned from book

Man’s Search for Meaning provides a vivid account of an individual’s experience as a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp. The book focuses on love, hope, responsibility, inner freedom, and the beauty to be found in both nature and art as means that help one endure and overcome harrowing experiences.

    ==========================

    🖤 ✡️

“Man’s Search For Meaning” by Victor Frankl is an amazing but sad book. It is one of my favorite books of the 20th century. Victor Frankl miraculously survived unimaginable horrors during the Holocaust but never gave up. This man was a role model and a hero.

You're Too Good to Feel This Bad An Orthodox Approach to Living an Unorthodox Life by Nate Dallas - Top 12 lesson

Hi, welcome to this podcast: Famous Book Lessons & Summaries

Today we will be looking at  Top 12 lesson learned from book - You're Too Good to Feel This Bad: An Orthodox Approach to Living an Unorthodox Life by Nate Dallas

You're Too Good to Feel This Bad: An Orthodox Approach to Living an Unorthodox Life by Nate Dallas - Top 12 lesson

Nate Dallas shares his eye-opening, personal experiment to escape the cultural epidemic of anxiety and entrapment.

Nate’s book is like 10 self-improvement books wrapped into one. He covers several health-related topics such as sleep, breathing, diet, exercise, mindset, meditation, and many more areas that play a vital role in achieving better health.

he presents an entertaining and enlightening journey, challenging other over-achievers to break away from cultural norms.

Top 12 lesson learned from book -"You're Too Good to Feel This Bad"

1)"Take charge of your health and wellbeing. No one can do it for you."

2)"Failure, suffering, and setback are typically the place where we experience the most learning and growth."

3)"We create lasting change by taking control of the things that control our behaviors. We modify inputs to improve outputs."

4)"Make no mistake: poor sleep always negatively affects the mind, body, and spirit. There is no escaping this truth, so if you are serious about living, you must be serious about sleeping."

    5)Proper sleeping will:

6)"As a society, we are addicted to sugar, and the food companies know it. They are happy to make you dependent on their products by adding copious amounts of sugar."

7)"Five glasses of water a day reduces the risk of a heart attack by 41%."

😎"If we are growing, we can look back and see how childish, unloving, selfish, arrogant, or inexperienced we were. It should be gratifying, not shameful, to look back and see foolishness. It validates growth and progress."

9)It's important to refrain from making big decisions in a poor state...When I'm sad, I rarely see things accurately. When I'm tired, I take the lazy approach."

10)"Anxiety is a call to action. It will continue to signal to us, robbing us of our potential peace until we make the changes it demands."

11)"Love is a discipline. It's not mystical or magical. It is a choice, and it takes practice to be any good at it. One does not fall into love, but rather, steps into it."

12)"You're too good to feel this bad."

You don't belong in the "mediocre middle" with everyone else: exhausted, stressed, and unfulfilled.

You're Too Good to Feel This Bad, and you know it.

Hi, welcome to this podcast: Famous Book Lessons & Summaries

Today we will be looking at  5 Lessons Learnt From The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham

The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham - 5 Lessons Learnt

In 1949 the book 'The Intelligent Investor' was published by Benjamin Graham, an iconic book on investment psychology and long term gratification - both key traits for astute investors.

The book focuses on longer-term and more risk-averse approaches to investing with Graham's focus on investments, based on research rather than speculations which are based on predictions.

    Graham comments:

“In the short term the market is a voting machine; in the long term it is a weighing machine.”

The Art of War by SUN TZU - 20 Lessons Learned

Hi, welcome to this podcast: Famous Book Lessons & Summaries

Today we will be looking at 20 Lessons Learned from the book "The Art of War " by SUN TZU

The Art of War by SUN TZU - 20 Lessons Learned

    #1 Unprepared Loses

You have to live and finish the war with every detail in your mind. There should be no room for surprises. During the battle, your time and other resources will be limited. If you don’t know which resource to use for how long, you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere. The party with the plan is strong. The side that has a good plan is the side that is close to victory. Plan the week, the day, the hour, even the minutes.

    What I learned:

1 - Know your limits and be resourceful

2 - Know that being resourceful is more important than abundance

3 - Strike only where it is necessary (Focus on one point at a time without losing the big picture)

4 - Only execute with a clear motive

Hi, welcome to this podcast: Famous Book Lessons & Summaries

Today we will be looking at “Ikigai

Ten laws of the Ikigai learned from the Ogimi elders

“Ikigai The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life”

By Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles

When you look up ikigai online, you will find that this Japanese concept of finding your purpose also means “a reason for being”. The term combines two words: iki, which means “life” and kai (voiced out as gai), which means “worth”. It pertains to the source of value in someone’s life, something that gives a person a sense of direction and happiness.

Japanese psychologist Michiko Kumano (2017) has said that ikigai is a state of wellbeing that arises from devotion to activities one enjoys, which also brings a sense of fulfillment.

    ===========================

I intend this summary for educational purposes, not as an alternative to the book.

Limitless by Jim Kwik -  10 Powerful Thoughts

Hi, welcome to this podcast: Famous Book Lessons & Summaries

Today we will be looking at  10 Powerful Thoughts From the Best Book "Limitless" by Jim Kwik

Limitless by Jim Kwik -  10 Powerful Thoughts

Limitless is about how to reach your full potential, which Kwik views as basically limitless. The author is a renowned brain expert, so this book looks at optimizing your brain and mind.

I will start off with a quote by Kwik:

“If you are struggling to reach a goal in any area, you must first ask: Where is the limit? Most likely, you’re experiencing a limit in your mindset, motivation, or methods—which means that it’s not a personal shortcoming or failure pointing to any perceived lack of ability.” – Jim Kwik #limitless #jimkwik

Here are the 10 Powerful Thoughts From the Best Book "Limitless" by Jim Kwik

“One of my core beliefs is that human potential is one of the only infinite resources we have in this world. Most everything else is finite, but the human mind is the ultimate superpower—there is no limit to our creativity, imagination, determination, or ability to think, reason, or learn. Yet this resource is also among the least tapped.” – Jim Kwik #limitless #jimkwik
