Hanako, Anthony, Mike, and Lorrie discuss S1E2 of A Discovery of Witches, in which we all determine that we are absolutely hooked on this show. After realizing the extent of his craving for Diana, Matthew leaves Oxford to try to curb his appetites. The supernatural community takes an increased interest in Diana, and she learns of a betrayal within her small circle. Diana meets someone from her mother's past, who quickly reveals his determination and motivation for wanting Ashmole 782. Matthew reveals to Diana the importance of the manuscript and how it relates to the work he's doing. We learn a little about Matthew's romantic past, and it's problematic to say the least.
New show alert! The FHP crew have decided on A Discovery of Witches as our next show to cover. This show tells the story of Diana, a reluctant witch whose latent powers uncover a manuscript that could have a huge impact on the supernatural world she has tried to avoid all of her life. Things get even more complicated when she meets Matthew - a charismatic vampire who has been looking for the manuscript for centuries.
The show is based on the "All Souls" trilogy, written by Deborah Harkness and can be found on the Sundance/AMC+ Channels. We will cover all of season 1 as we anticipate the January 9, 2021 release of season 2.
Hanako and Kacey are back to discuss their favorite moments from the last few episodes and 2-hour season finale of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. We get to learn a little ore about most of the main characters (some good, some not so much), witness a few unexpected reunions, and see a few characters make noble sacrifices "for the greater good".
Even though the show started out slow and sluggish, it is agreed that the season ended well, with interesting character developments for all, especially the two Bennett sisters - whose strong bond is the strength of the show (for us, at least).
We also discuss a little bit of our theories and expectations for the other TWD shows in the near future.
The season finale of Cursed is here, and the explosive conclusion leaves us with as many questions as it does answers. Nimue and Merlin both surrender themselves to save those that they love. Several characters reveal their true selves (albeit, in different ways). The Fey escape from Gramaire, but must still fight for their freedom. Mike and Anthony have a theory on the identity of Red Spear, and Hanako and Lorrie agree that Squirrel is the best character on this show, period!!!
All in all, we all enjoyed the show and are hopeful that we will soon receive news of a season two renewal.
The FHP crew are excited as we discuss episode 9 of Cursed. The Fisherman tracks down Merlin but gets more than he bargained for with his catch. The Queen Regent openly mocks King Uther when he makes a strategic decision, but Uther has another ace up his sleeve that she does not see coming. Father Cardin receives a couple of unexpected visitors - one welcomed and one, not so much. Nimue receives two offers from the opposing kings, and negotiates with both to save her people. Tensions between the Fey and humans of Gramaire lead to harsh consequences for the aggressors. Gawain withstands torture rather than betray Nimue, and Squirrel proves why he is one of the best characters on television, period.
Only one more episode until the season finale!
In Cursed S1E8, titled "The Fey Queen", the Fey must leave the safety of Nemos as the Grey Monk and Red Paladins close in on their location. Arthur finds a smuggler willing to transport the Fey to safety, but the ships will not be there before the Grey Monk. Nimue comes up with a plan to take the city of Gramaire back from the Red Paladins, and is reunited with an old friend. Morgana begins to see her future take shape in Gramaire. Merlin tries to bargain with Cumber the Ice King for Nimue's safety, but her new title amongst the Fey and the fact that she holds the Sword of Power poses a threat in his quest to claim the throne. The Widow sees Nimue's future, and it does not look good. King Uther finds out the truth about his birth.
