Fanfiction Power Hour

On today's episode, Matt and Ruth craft the next installment of their ongoing fanfiction master piece: Bumi's Tale. Join them as they debate over whether or not Bumi should be 900 years old, if Flopsy is a harbinger of the end times, and most importantly--is Omashu really just war-torn Los Angeles in the year 2057?

On today's episode, Matt and Ruth attempt to tackle the massive Alpha Beta Omega Dynamic corner of fanfiction.  From its humble origins in the Star Trek community to its bafflingly meteoric rise in the 2010s, there is no aspect, no matter how disturbing, that they shy away from discussing. Saddle up and abandon all hope at the door, because it's time to get weird.

On this very spooky episode: Ghosts, vampires and werewolves abound as Ruth and Matt  guide you through Sonic creepypasta and not one, but THREE chilling tales of love in the Twilight universe. Don't turn out the lights for this one, boys and girls, because it's dreadfully frightful.

CW:  Today's episode touches on some themes that may be uncomfortable to some listeners. These themes include: nonconsensual sex, slavery, and human trafficking. Unlike part one, there is a rather explicit rape scene this episode. If you're uncomfortable listening to it, please skip from 37:50 to 40:48.

On today's episode, Matt and Ruth try their hardest to answer the question "why would someone write this?" as they finish off Sold to One Direction. Afterwards, from multi-million dollar movie deals to onedirectionfanfiction.org, Matt learns just how deep the rabbit hole goes.

CW:  While they don't go into explicit detail in this part, this episode still contains themes that may be sensitive to some listeners. These themes include: Slavery, human trafficking, and non-consensual sex.

On today's episode, it's Matt's turn in the cringe hot-seat as he discusses his time spent on a  Banjo-Kazooie fan forum, his Legend of Zelda OC, and much much more.  Afterwards, we begin our journey into one of Wattpad's most notorious fan fictions, "Sold to One Direction." Let's just say its reputation is well deserved.
