For this very special on-location interview, we stopped by Dave Parthemore's shop to talk about his experience winning the Forged in Fire Invitational Tournament!

We chatted about both episodes he appeared on, in detail, and this was one of those times where we almost forgot we were doing an interview because we were learning so much!

Dave works as a blacksmith full-time and when he retires in a few years, he plans to focus on being a bladesmith.

A&E Networks is selling Forged in Fire (faux-forged looking) branded Kitchen Knives. 

A number of bladesmiths were unhappy to hear about this, and voiced their opinions on Social Media, which led to the creation of this petition:

For this episode, our smiths had to start by making a steel recurve bow, and then the finalists had to make the Arbalest Crossbow. We got bows, arrows and dramatic catastrophic failures! Great episode!

For this episode, our smiths had to recreate Ben Abbott's favorite blade, the Celtic Ring Knife. They were tasked with using wrought iron and high carbon steel to do a san mai blade. The finalists had to recreate the Irish Ring Hilted Sword. What a badass weapon!
