Fantasy Benchwarmers

And so it will happen. Ironically, in the midst of this COVID outbreak in the NBA, one man who was not allowed to play part-time because he is unvaccinated will return to help the Brooklyn Nets from their COVID woes. Given that he will only play road games, is it really worth holding on to Kyrie Irving? What to do if you have him and what to do if he's available?

Klay Thompson's return was moved back to January which is a bummer for his managers. No setback has been reported so maybe he just needs a bit more time to get used to the pace of the game. Whatever it is, it's really getting close.

In the middle of this COVID fuzz, Wendell Carter Jr. suffered a leg injury that scared a lot of his managers. He was actually carted off the floor via wheel chair. Reports though which we found while recording this quickie said that it is just a muscle strain.

We rarely talk about him in our quickies, so today we decided to pay some respect to Lebron James. Just like Chris Paul, LBJ has so far been playing way above what many managers expected. At 36, do you think he can sustain this throughout the season? Should we buy him? We talk about some players commish will trade for LBJ.

Lots of buy players discussed in this quickie - Isaac Okoro, Isaiah Hartenstein, Terrence Ross among others.

COVID strikes anew! This time the Brooklyn Nets got 7 players under the protocol. What about this for wishful thinking - with the Nets lineup very depleted, what if Kyrie Irving suddenly decides to save the Nets from this COVID outbreak and play? Well, that's just me hoping he does play. Giannis Antetokounmpo is also another big name that entered the health and safety protocols. Who to maybe add or stream?

Not many players to talk about but we focused a bit on Mikal Bridges and Mitchell Robinson. Then we also had some nice discussion about trading in fantasy and annoying trade offers - how to deal with them.

Let me start by taking a poll. I strongly believe that it is difficult to sell high a player like Harrison Barnes. So commish and I kind of debated how high can Barnes be traded so we want to ask you guys to comment below if you were able to sell high Harrison Barnes and how high were you able to sell him for? I want to know what the real market is for this guy.

We talked about the seemingly declining fantasy game of Tobias Harris. Do you think he is not the player he used to be?

Another day, another set of COVID-related illness. This time Zach Lavine, RJ Barrett and Precious Achiuwa enters COVID protocols. The Chicago Bulls has definitely been the most unfortunate with almost everyone under health and safety protocols. I guess the only good news is that once endured this next 2 weeks without these players, you won't worry about them getting COVID again anytime soon or during the playoffs.

Mo Bamba sprained his ankle today and given his injury history, we are hoping this is nothing too serious. Then we talk about some pickup of the year candidates which included Bobby Portis. After a slow start due to injury, Portis has been very good this year and one of the more consistent players from the Bucks. He might have also solidified himself as one of the Bucks' starters moving forward.

We got more updates on Zion and at this point, whatever update we get about this guy, stay away! I will be surprised if he returns before the All-Star break. Plus, it's the holidays and he won't just be dealing with the sore foot but also his diet during this season!

Jerami Grant is another thumb injury casualty. He will be out indefinitely so this could mean a boost for the Detroit Pistons' young guns like Cade Cunningham, Isaiah Stewart, Saddiq Bey and Killian Hayes.

Guard talk for our feel good Sunday quickie! It's Darius Garland or Kyle Lowry. Who would you rather own? I'm also a bit surprised with commish's take on another guard we compared to Lowry - find out who that is.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Fiftieth DFQ episode for the season! Thanks for following and supporting the podcast and the content we put out! Truly appreciate it!

For today's quickie, we put out our prediction on SGA's over/under games played this season. Over or Under 60 games? What do you think?

Two more early rounders we rarely talked about - Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokoumnpo. Both are quietly just doing their business with so much  consistency. Who do you think is best to own for the rest of the season?

It's the rant about Anthony Davis episode! We discuss some managers' frustration with AD despite being within the top 10 fantasy players so far. Is this the best we can get from AD or can he return to that top 5 or even top 3 status?

A couple of days ago we talked about the Indiana Pacers' plan to rebuild already, putting every Pacers' status within the team in jeopardy. Now we hear that Myles Turner hasn't been happy with his limited role with the team? It seems like we are already seeing the first player that might be shipped out from Indiana this season.

Discussion about the underrated Jakob Poeltl and possible sell high options for Derrick White.

Sooo, Chris Boucher got the start. Is it time to add him up again? Okay, let's face it, the Boucher of last season is probably too much to expect given the very inconsistent playing time and deeper rotation in his position so lines like today could be good enough to ride him while the Toronto Raptors' big men are recovering.

We discuss and compare 2 rookies this season - Franz Wagner and Josh Giddey. Who do you think has a better outlook for the rest of the year? Who would you rather have in your team?

More player discussions: Robert Williams, Alperen Sengun, Garrison Matthews, Terrence Davis, Herb Jones plus a lot more. Lots of nice and fun discussions in this episode as well!

Biggest injury news today is CJ McCollum's collapsed lung, which is a bad sounding injury. He will miss significant time, but nothing concrete at this point. What's concrete is TJ McConnell will be out for the season which already gives Chris Duarte some nice fantasy value for the rest of the season. More interesting though would be the news of an Indiana rebuild. Who gets moved and who stays a Pacer is what we managers will have to wait and see.

OG Anunoby suffers a setback that could prevent him from playing the rest of 2021, Bogdan Bogdanovic meanwhile is looking to miss the rest of 2021 already. We also discuss the New York Knicks rotation shake-up and finally some Luka Doncic, who has been okay but has not really had many "Wow" performances this season.
