Quinn Cook was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers today. This might not seem to be an exciting news from the fantasy front but this move has many speculating that Demarcus Cousins will join the Lakers soon. We still don’t know if that will happen so those DMC owners should wait and see as it seems like a change of team for Cousins will happen any day now.
The Washington Wizards are on a 5-game winning streak. This is good news for Bradley Beal owners who have been anxious for a possible trade just a few weeks ago. Looks like Beal and Russell Westbrook have hit their stride. One player who is not hitting his is Davis Bertans. Another string of bad games could just force his owners to drop him.
Lebron James has said he isn’t tired, and rest is not something he thinks about. But with how the Lakers have struggled lately, it is concerning to see him play a lot of minutes and doing a lot of things on the court. He is 36 and doing too much might make him vulnerable to you know…I don’t want to say it, but you know starts with “I” and ends with “Y”. Anyway, let’s hope help comes really soon, which brings me back to Quinn Cook being waived.

Finally, Ryan Saunders was let go by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Is this good? We discuss what will be the fantasy implications of this coaching change to their players. We also talk about their new coach Chris Finch and how his system can benefit players like Karl Anthony-Town, Ricky Rubio, etc. Will young players like Jared Vanderbilt, Jaden McDaniels and Jordan Maclaughlin benefit?
A new rookie can stand-out in Detroit with the absence of Delon Wright. We also talk about our big risers - Lonzo Ball, Ben Simmons and the resurgence of Jarrett Allen. We're also worried about DeAaron Fox's performance of late.
It's a long quickie but it was very nice conversation as always.

So the biggest news today was probably about Demarcus Cousins and the Houston Rockets plan to part ways. What's weird in this story is that Cousins will still play tomorrow's game and there have been reports that he will continue to play for the Rockets until he either gets waived or traded. From the Houston front, there really aren't many who will benefit from this though except for maybe Christian Wood who is closing in on a return. But, we'll have to wait and see what happens to this story in the coming days or weeks.
Zach Lavine and Scary Terry Rozier have continued to silence doubting fantasy managers. Who would've thought that Rozier would maintain his top 30 ranking - very far off from his ADP of 120+? The challenge for both of these players is that it's quite hard to sell them in a trade because not many believe they can sustain their strong fantasy run. If Rozier or Lavine were offered to you, what player are you willing to give up?

It's a Saturday quickie and Joel Embiid just put out another gem of a line scoring 50 points with a full stat line. He scored an insane 93 fantasy points in DFS play. Not to be outdone, Jamal Murray also scored 50 and has been on fire for the past week! Can he sustain this? Maybe, maybe not. But the Denver Nuggets have been depleted with injuries and Murray took it upon himself to carry the scoring in back court. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George return to action and tested their mettle against the Utah Jazz. Leonard was good, but PG13 might not be 100% healthy yet.
Chris Paul, at 36 years old, is still same old CP3. As the saying goes, he's aging like fine wine. Still effective, still efficient and still very reliable fantasy asset. Can he keep this up without getting injured? Let's keep our fingers crossed. If OKC is the goldmine of low-end fantasy players in the West, Detroit is probably it's counterpart in the East. The Pistons has a lot of surprise studs that starts with Jerami Grant. Who would've thought - Josh Jackson, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart (from time to time), Wayne Ellington and soon it could be Dennis Smith Jr. One Pistons player still giving his owner a lot to smile for is Mason Plumlee. He probably won't score much and has poor efficiency stats (TOs and FT%) but everything else has been really good. For how long do you think can he sustain it?
We've got a bunch of waiver wire specials today and a lot of interesting discussions along the way so check out the quickie while you enjoy this nice cool Saturday weather. Have a great weekend!

Since Anthony Davis re-aggravated his achilles injury, there have been a lot of managers selling their ADs. I've seen some really low ball trades and some seemingly good ones as well. In all those trade, one thing is certain, AD's value has dropped significantly. What do you think is a fair return for Davis?
Dennis Schroeder is under COVID protocol, making the Los Angeles Lakers a very depleted team. But unlike OKC which we usually refer to as a goldmine of fantasy relevant players, the Lakers seem to have very few players to choose from. Maybe it's the Lebron James effect since many would think that it will be James who will be carrying much of the load anyway.
With only 3 games on the slate, there wasn't really much players to talk about. But there could be some good streaming options here you can consider.

Let me just say, I loved this discussion we had for today’s quickie. We started off the episode discussing the new IL+ slot provided by Yahoo Fantasy for players who are under the O, GTD, OFS status. How can leagues utilize this slot and what are the limitations with this new change made in the middle of the season. To be honest, we feel this change came a little too late.
A couple of players returned to action - Evan Fournier and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander just as we find out that CJ McCollum could be out a little longer (probably until after the All-Star break). Draymond Green was a late scratch costing Eric his DFS lineup for today.
Domantas Sabonis was a monster today and we think about who the better player would be at this point - Sabonis or Julius Randle? Davis Bertans finally got his rhythm and Jerami Grant was really good but he left me wanting for more.
Then we talk about trades. Eric shared stories of trades that were made (by other managers) prior to this week that was seemingly done at the perfect time. How about this for an example - Cam Reddish for Daniel Gafford? And a RoCo trade that would seem like a lopsided trade in hindsight.

You might be surprised we did an all-English episode of the quickie. We had some friends from the NBA Fantasy Locker Room group message us asking if we have an English podcast. So we thought we'd try doing one quickie on English only mode. I hope the episode turned out well.
Anyway, regardless if it's in English or Filipino, one thing is certain, we will do our best to talk about the latest fantasy basketball updates. In today's quickie, we discuss the seemingly COVID outbreak with the San Antonio Spurs and possibly the Charlotte Hornets. Both teams will have postponed games in the coming week and that would hurt some managers especially those who have multiple players from these two teams. The situation however, does not merit dropping players like Derrick White or Jakob Poeltl.
We also worry about the Minnesota Timberwolves, first because D'Angelo Russell will miss 4-6 weeks and second because they zero incentive to win and that might hurt KAT's long term value. The last thing we want as KAT owners is seeing him being shut down as the Wolves go full out tanking. So what should we do with KAT? Listen in for our recommendations.

So the biggest news for today isn't about injuries (Thank God!). The Cleveland Cavaliers are now shopping Andre Drummond around and they will no longer let him play until they find a trade partner. How long would that be? We really don't know. What we do know is that Jarrett Allen is back to being the beast he was early in the season. As for Blake Griffin, well, he is not very fantasy-relevant these days and it would be hard to move him so I'm not sure if he is still worth the hold.
We also did live Q&A with you guys and we talked about Saddiq Bey, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Cam Reddish, Hassan Whiteside and a lot more! We'll try to do more live sessions in the future, maybe once a week or twice a month. We'll see.
Lastly, if it is not too much to ask, and if you like our podcast and the community we continuously grow, please leave us a review on our facebook page. As always, thank you for watching/listening.

That escalated quickly. Four days ago we were just talking about Anthony Davis and his injury. Being an AD owner I was torn between him playing now to save my fantasy team or him taking a bit more time to rest so as not to aggravate his injury. Today, AD played. I was quite happy as he started really well, then after playing 14 minutes, the moment we AD owners dreaded happened. He re-aggravated his achilles injury. The good news, it looks like it is not torn and he would most likely return. The bad news, well after today, I'm pretty sure the Lakers will be very cautious and that means he will miss time and we feel he will miss a LOT of time! So what now? If AD indeed misses time (our guess, as shared by one of our friends, is they'll keep him out until after the all-star break). How do we go from this point of losing your first pick? We threw out some ideas on what you can do to minimize the impact of this.
So much injuries around the league and to big name stars too! Aside from AD, Kevin Durant also has a hamstring injury that could sideline him 2-3 games. Kawhi Leonard was a late scratch, but his injury could be minor or an excuse to get some rest in. Andre Drummond's performance over the past few games has been uninspiring and today he did not even play. He could be the biggest name in the trading block so let's see how this pans out.
Of course we had a bunch more players we talked about including Mason Plumlee, Saddiq Bey, Mo Wagner and Nemanja Bjelica as waiver wire specials. Jayson Tatum, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook for our trending down players.
