  • Daily Fantasy Quickie (March 04, 2021) - What are you willing to give up for Andre Drummond?

Today was quite interesting. Three very unlikely players got a triple double. Nope it was not Russell Westbrook, nor was it Draymond Green. James Harden had a triple double but we kinda expected that or at least we are not surprised by that. So who's the three? TJ McConnell, Dennis Smith Jr and Mason Plumlee! In DFS play, these three players had a value of just $65 combined! McConnell's triple double was quite impressive as he had 10 swipes! Smith Jr. has been playing relatively well for Detroit and Plumlee probably learned a thing or two from Nikola Jokic when he was in Denver. Congratulations if you guys had this low key players in your line-ups today.

A lot of managers have been asking us about Andre Drummond. So what do you do with Drummond? Or maybe a better question is what are you willing to give up for Drummond if you are going for him. We throw out some suggestions out there for you to consider. Also, Houston could be the next goldmine of fantasy-relevant players as the team seems to be going nowhere. This could mean a lot of playing time for the young guys like Jaesean Tate, Justin Patton and maybe Kevin Porter Jr., who has been averaging 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists with 1.5 steals in the G-League.

Unfortunately we couldn't squeeze in a trade analysis today, but we'll make sure we do one tomorrow.

  • Daily Fantasy Quickie (March 03, 2021) - COVID and the Raptors. Jerami Grant falling back to earth?

Toronto (Tampa Bay) Raptors is now the latest team to be struck by the COVID protocols as several key players were declared out already for the their game against Detroit. Among those of significant fantasy relevance are Fred Vanvleet, OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam. Of course we talk about beneficiaries and possible waiver pickups for the Raptors.

Kawhi Leonard was a very late scratch. Looks like he is getting his early All-Star Break treatment already, to the dismay of his owners. We also look into the first game of Nate McMillan with the Hawks and how initial observations suggest it could not go well for some Hawks players.

Jerami Grant cracks our worry list as he seems bound to miss another game for Detroit - a trend that could go on for the rest of the season. Another struggling player that came from COVID is Jrue Holiday. Though he was only given 15-18 minutes in his first 2 games the struggle could also be after effects of the virus. Just as how other players have struggled after returning from having the virus. Something to monitor moving forward.

Lastly, we talk about our Trade Analysis of the Day - LBJ and Zion for Giannis and Christian Wood.

Again, I enjoyed another great discussion with commish. Hope you’ll enjoy listening/watching too!

  • Daily Fantasy Quickie (March 02, 2021) - James Harden or Nikola Jokic? Which injured player should you stash now?

Biggest news today was the dismissal of Atlanta Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce. This is something we all kinda expected and for some fantasy managers hoped as well. Now we’ll have to see how this impacts the fantasy value of several Hawks players including John Collins, Danilo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic and other young guns.

Our big risers include a couple of first round players that are probably considered the 2 best fantasy players this season - Nikola Jokic and James Harden. Who would you rather have for the rest of the season?

We also discuss about fantasy rankings and how deceiving they can be. Let us know if you agree with our takes. Finally, we have a rundown of some of the injured players that you should start stashing now if they have been dropped and if you have more than one of these players which player should you prioritized stashing.

I have to admit sometimes we feel some episodes are not as solid as we want them to, but this one, I feel pretty good about.

  • Daily Fantasy Quickie (March 01, 2021) - Paul George trending down? What's the trade value of a Jaylen Brown?

End of Week 10! Hope your teams are within playoff contention by this time. There are still a lot of fantasy basketball to be played, but this time is the perfect opportunity to make necessary adjustments and make that push for fantasy playoffs. Week 11 would be a long one with the All-Star Break sandwiched between weeks 11a and 11b. As what commish has said in his written quickie, take this ASB as a time to push for trades you'd like to happen to improve your teams.

In today's quickie, an update on the Raptors' COVID situation and possible scenarios for Victor Oladipo after he rejected Houston Rockets' extension offer. Our big risers include Devin Booker and players who are back to trending up after being pulled by gravity in recent weeks. While our trending down players is a list of players that started the season hot but has slowly cooled off as the season progressed.

We also brought back Trade Analysis of the Day after not being able to include it yesterday.

  • Daily Fantasy Quickie (February 28, 2021) - Levert's coming back? WTF Seth Curry?

Finally, got some connection back! Surprisingly, one player who is reported to be on his way back to recovery is Caris Levert. Many, including us, felt it would take more time before he gets back into action considering the type of injury/illness he has had. But reports today came out that he will soon start practicing with the team and that will be music to the ears of Levert owners that stashed him. Another Pacer who has been in the INJ status, TJ Warren, on the other hand, is reported to be months away from returning. At this point, we think he should already be dropped as it looks like he will not be ready come fantasy playoffs.

Kevin Love, well, what did you expect? Of course he is still not ready to return to action. Even if he does return, how reliable can he be? Our WTF player of the game, Seth Curry, is just struggling since he got COVID. We hope this slump is just a phase and he can slowly squeeze in some good games while he find his rhythm. But it looks like he won't get back to the pre-COVID Seth Curry early this season.

It's a chill Sunday quickie. Some parts of this episode was a bit choppy, so we apologize for that. We do still hope you enjoy the episode.

  • Daily Fantasy Quickie (February 27, 2021) - KD's going to be a headache? Can Draymond Green sustain this?

Since my Internet is still non-existent, we decided to just do an audio only episode because we don't want to miss a day without a quickie! So for today's episode we talked about KD's hamstring injury and what to expect from him moving forward. Nick Nurse and his coaching staff missed a game due to COVID protocols and Toronto's acting coach sneakily inserted Chris Boucher in the starting lineup - something that might continue with Nurse out.

Draymond Green has slowly returned to being a fantasy stud. Do you think he can sustain this for the rest of the season? Jayson Tatum used to be a fantasy stud, but his recent performances have commish Eric very frustrated. Can he still turn it around?

We also added a couple of new segments - Drop or Keep, where we discuss what to do with some of the low end players who are usually streamers or borderline rosterable, and Trade Analysis of the Day, where we analyze a trade that was asked either in our FB group or in other groups or to us personally. We hope you'll enjoy these new segments.

  • Daily Fantasy Quickie (February 26, 2021) - Malik Beasley Suspension, more about the schedule plus live Q&A!

We did a live DFQ yesterday (Friday) and it was really fun to be able to interact with you guys! I think we should do more live sessions in the future. Anyway, in our usual quickie, we discussed the Malik Beasley suspension, the Tobias Harris injury and more analysis by Commish Eric on the 2nd half NBA schedule.

And of course what will be a live session without Q&As? We answer as much as we can in this Live DFQ which I hope helped.

  • S02E19 - Is Jordan Clarkson a diva? Angelo Kouame's citizenship, plus, NBA All-Star Reserves!
It's the weekly episode of FBW and that means we take a quick break from fantasy basketball discussion to talk real basketball! In this episode we invited Reuben Terrado, lead correspondent of SPIN.PH, to join us as we discuss the latest news in basketball!
We kick things off with Vic Manuel's trade from Alaska to Phoenix Fuel Masters and then go through some of the PBA prospects to watch out for in the upcoming draft, which is considered one of the deepest pool of basketball talents. From there we shifted to Gilas and once again Kai Sotto banners the headlines after it was reported that he will no longer join the Ignite G-League team this season. What happens to Kai now?
Angelo Kouame is inching closer to becoming a Filipino as his citizenship has already progressed in Congress. We also touched on other prospects who are also being eyed for naturalization and Reuben shared some experiences with Jordan Clarkson when he covered the Asian Games a few years ago.
Lastly, we wrapped up with the NBA All-Stars and picked our snubs, which didn't really turn out surprising since this has been written or talked about by different media outlets. But, it was still fun to have our own small discussion!
Hope you enjoy this weekly episode!

  • Daily Fantasy Quickie (February 25, 2021) - Second half schedule analysis. Should we really trade KAT?

Second half schedule of the NBA was released today and commish Eric went the extra mile to analyze the schedule against the fantasy playoffs. We discuss some teams that may be at a disadvantage with fewer games come fantasy playoffs. Commish also wrote a more in depth analysis of the schedule in the NBA Fantasy Locker Room Facebook group.

Jarrett Allen bullied the small ball Houston Rockets today and he seems to be in for a monster second half of the season. There have been a lot of questions about Karl Anthony-Towns and his outlook for the rest of the season particularly in the playoffs. We understand the fear of a possible shut down with KAT, we also are worried as we talked about it in our quickie a week ago. But trading KAT at a discount is not really acceptable, so in case you are trading him to eliminate the shut down worry come playoffs, make sure you get the right value that will not kill the future of your fantasy team. KAT is a solid player and he has slowly gotten better and this new system could benefit him as well, so be careful when entertaining trades for him.

  • Daily Fantasy Quickie (February 24, 2021) - Is Tyrese Haliburton the ROY? Plus lots of rumors swirling DMC, KP, Drummond.

We kick off today's DFQ with the rumors surrounding a number of centers - Demarcus Cousins, Kristaps Porzingis and Andre Drummond. It seems like there are no clear destination yet for DMC as the Lakers have said that they are not very interested in signing the former Rockets center. The Dallas Mavericks have been rumored to be testing the trade market for Kristaps Porzingis, though owner Mark Cuban denied this. But as the saying goes, when there's smoke, there's fire and this KP situation looks to be smoking. Andre Drummond is still a Cavalier, though his frustrated owners are growing anxious and annoyed that he still does not have a team. Eric and I discuss some possible destinations and possible impact in their fantasy values in case they are moved to certain teams.

Of course like any DFQ episode we talked about the day's performers and duds. Tyrese Haliburton showed today why he deserves to be talked about more than some of his fellow rookies. Haliburton has been a top 70 player in fantasy since the start of the season yet he has been very low key compared to fellow rookies Lamelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman. Do you think Haliburton will end up being this year's ROY?

We also discussed the underrated fantasy value of Ivica Zubac. Zubac has been a top 80 fantasy player for weeks now due to his efficient stat lines. This despite coming off the bench and playing limited minutes. Deandre Jordan is another player that according to Eric has been dropped/streamed the past few days/weeks. With the injury to Jeff Green, he should be owned in all leagues, well he should be owned in all leagues even with Jeff Green around.

A bunch more player insights were discuss in this episode so check out our DFQ this Wednesday night!
