First live Q & A with a listener and it was really fun! We invited one of FBW's listener, AJ Velasco, to join us for a live DFQ so we can meet some of you guys and also get his take on your fantasy basketball questions. Despite being a first year player of fantasy basketball, AJ gave solid takes and tips.
In this quickie we talked about Derrick White and Chris Boucher, who have been annoying for some fantasy managers because of their inconsistent play. We also gave some tips on commissioning a league since we've been receiving lots of fantasy managers complaining about their respective leagues. Finally as we said, lots of Q&A.

Lamelo Ball's season seems to have come to an end after the rookie suffered a fractured wrist that would sideline him for the rest of the season. Reports say that he will seek a second opinion and best to maybe wait for that confirmation before dropping, but on one hand, it was Woj who reported it and most often than not, Woj-bombs are quite accurate.
One player we've been asked a lot about is Wendell Carter Jr. The Chicago Bulls center has been playing off the bench and hasn't been really a factor in fantasy terms. Lots of managers are missing out on hot free agents as they hold the spot for WCJ. We discuss in this episode whether WCJ should be dropped or can he still regain some solid fantasy value moving forward.
Over the past few weeks/days we've recommended some players you might want to add for speculative reasons until the trade deadline. One of those players should be Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Among the players who have be linked to trade rumors, it is Lonzo Ball's name that has propped up a number of times in the past couple of days and if Lonzo gets traded, NAW gets the big bump. So if he is available on your wires, scoop him up and hold on to him until the deadline passes.

It's been awhile since we've had this idea of finding PBA players who are into fantasy basketball. And in this weekly episode we had a breakthrough that got us really excited. 2020 PBA Philippine Cup Outstanding Rookie Aaron Black of the Meralco Bolts graced the podcast and share about basketball, his relationship with his coach/dad and a lot of fantasy basketball! Find out what his rookie "hazing" was when he joined the league, what's his professional relationship is with his dad, multi-titled coach Norman Black and how his teammates and other teams welcomed him in the PBA.
Of course, FBW will not be complete without fantasy discussions! We asked Aaron about some of the injuries in the past few days and from his view as a professional athlete, how long does he think it would take to recover from these injuries (pretty much it was just Lebron's injury). We also had a couple of trade analysis for Aaron to help us with and find out who has been added to his "do not draft ever" list.

First Anthony Davis, then Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant is still out, Steph Curry just had an injury scare a few nights ago and now it's Lebron James. The good news is it does not look like it is a season ending injury. The bad news is, he will be out indefinitely. Let's hope it will be just a case of him being out 2-3 weeks at worse four. Talen Horton-Tucker will be the hottest pickup off the wire, but really the biggest beneficiary could be Dennis Schroeder, Montrezl Harrell and Kyle Kuzma. It will also be interesting to see what the Lakers does during the trade deadline.
John Collins gave his fantasy managers a great stat line today and it looks like he has really picked it up with new coach Nate McMillan. With the rate he is going, he could get into the teens or maybe early twenties in rank and who knows, maybe the Hawks decide to just keep him this season.
We are about 5 days away from the trade deadline and there are a lot of rumors going around of different players possibly changing teams. But so far everything is quiet on the trade front and many managers will be quite anxious to see if some key players will be moved or not.

We honestly could not believe fantasy managers dropping TJ McConnell or Keldon Johnson. Today, they just showed why we should be more patient with them. Commish Eric shared some criteria you should consider before dropping players. Hope that would help in your decision making process. The Toronto Raptors are back in full force and it looks like the magic of Norm Powell is here to stay as he remains in the team's starting five while Chris Boucher is back to his role off the bench. Both should be good fantasy players despite the Raptors' core players returning from injury.
Are you worried about the GLeague Boys? Well, their lack of performance now is actually not surprising since these players are young and inexperienced. Plus their roles in their teams are not set in stone. So what should you do? Hold until the trade deadline and see if a trade or two could make a major impact in their fantasy values. These players have great upside and given the opportunity they can contribute a lot to your fantasy teams.
Should you be buying low on Kelly Oubre? Well, if you own Oubre and is barely within the playoff position, we shared a tip on how you can sell Oubre for good value.

It is Commish Eric's birthday! Just putting it here to mark the birthday episode. But if you want to throw in a greeting, just drop by our Facebook page. Moving on to our quickie, Anthony Edwards played his best game in the NBA so far and he has been quite good for a few games now. It will be interesting to see how the return of D'Angelo Russell and eventually Malik Beasley impact his fantasy value. Karl Anthony-Towns has also picked up the pace and maybe he could still get back to that top 5 status.
Deandre Hunter and OG Anunoby are due to return tomorrow, and players like Norm Powell, who has been very hot of late, could take a slight hit in value. But we'll still have to wait and see. John Collins has sneaked into top 25 in rankings and his efficiency is really something fantasy managers love about him. Will he still be traded? We'll find out in a week.
Marvin Bagley will be out at least 4 weeks, not sure how obvious this would be but, looks like you need to hit that drop button on him.
Lastly, Commish and I had a short debate. Actually a useless debate about a couple of low-end value players. Find out which players we talked about.
As I write this, daily COVID cases in the Philippines hit 7000 mark, not something we are proud of but we hope you guys stay safe.

I just traded for Steph Curry during the All-Star Break. So imagine the anxiety I am going through as I await the news on Curry's tailbone injury. I did a bit of research and worst case scenario for a tailbone contusion is 4 weeks. Yikes! But the way he walked off the floor, let's hope for just a week off. PJ Tucker was traded *yawn*. Trevor Ariza was traded *yaaaawwwwnnn*. Hope these (boring, no fantasy excitement types fo trades) are not signs of things to come as we approach trade deadline.
James Harden and Luka Doncic tried to out-stat each other. Commish though still thinks Harden is way ahead of Doncic in terms of fantasy value. Where are those Luka fanatics? Please tell commish who the real deal is? One thing I'm sure commish will agree with me with, Doncic got ahead of Harden with that referee.
Lots of big risers in today's slate plus we analyze a trade from one of our organized leagues that was just submitted to "my office" a couple of hours before our quickie.

Whoa! That Moses Brown stat line! But take note this was against one of the worse teams defense against centers, but the potential to be a monster fantasy player is quite exciting! Since there are quite a number of young players getting fantasy managers all giddy, commish Eric ranked these players according to priority on who you should grab in case more than one is still available in your leagues.
Damian Lillard was not too good today, he had zero steals and zero blocks, yuck! Okay, just kidding, he is one of our Big Risers today. And as Eric emphasized he seems to be one of the safest player from any resting concerns. Danilo Gallinari has now found his second life with new coach Nate Mcmillan and is now averaging close to 30 minutes per game.
We also shared some low-end adds or streamers currently playing well and helping in certain categories.
After yesterday's trade analysis, we got some messages about their leagues also experiencing unreasonable vetoes from fellow managers. So some managers asked us to assess some trades that were vetoed to see if they seemed fair. For this episode of DFQ we analyzed four trades. Tell us if you would veto these trades too!

So Kevin Durant could be out another 1-2 weeks. Isn't that annoying? It seems like he has been out for about a month now! We knew coming into this season that he would miss games, but we never really felt it will be this annoying. Knowing what you know now, would you have drafted him in the first round?
Marvin Bagley fractures his hand and that could be it for him this season. Okay, nothing is final yet, but he will definitely miss time. As we always tell you guys, let's wait for the official diagnosis first before dropping. John Wall seems to have some issues with his knee and it doesn't sound too good. He will still play, but to what extent and how often will be a question his managers would always ask. Rest of the season outlook on Wall, well, looks pretty grim.
Another player getting to the nerves of his fantasy managers is Al Horford. Another rest day was given to Horford, though we are speculating that he might be traded soon and the OKC Thunder is just preserving him. Do not drop him, he has a chance to be traded, so let's wait for that.

It took 11 minutes of playing time in two games before Kevin Love goes down once again with an injury. Well, today's reason for playing only one minute is that his calf did not feel right. I don't know about you but I feel that this season is a lost season already for Love. I don't even think he'll still play a game where in he would be fantasy relevant. Out of frustration, I let go of the Love and I have to say, it's quite liberating!
One player who might get more love from fantasy managers is Aleksej Pokusevski of the Oklahoma City Thunder who played well today in the absence of some OKC starters. He now becomes the latest hot pick from the wire. This could be a one game wonder kind of thing, but hey, as we point out, he can be a more exciting add than say Dwight Howard or Tony Bradley of the 76ers.
The Chicago Bulls shook their roster today and started Thad Young and Tomas Satoransky. Both players should be rostered even if this could be a short term experiment. Coby White and Wendell Carter Jr. moved to the bench but don't make rash decisions as they are still solid fantasy plays besides, this change could be temporary.
Congrats to Week 11 winners!
