For the rest of the podcast descriptions we will have timestamps for each segment so you can ump around if you want between topics.
Thanks for listening and we will see you next week for a new episode.
This is a bittersweet moment where we aren't saying goodbye to Center of Attention but we are saying hello to a brand new sports podcast with a familiar face, Niko Bryant. Starting next week this podcast feed will be transitioned to Far End of the Bench which will be a sports podcast where we talk major news in the sporting world plus a host of other segments.
As for today's episode we are replaying the first time Niko joined Center of Attention way back in January to remind you all of his voice and his opinions on the sporting world. Before that, however, it will be a more emotional segment of the show as I give my thoughts on my cousin Tommy who I mentioned a while ago was fighting cancer and now finds himself in hospice care. Enjoy these highs and lows as we get ready for the transition. Thank you all for following along with Center of Attention and be sure to roll over and jump on the bandwagon of the new show Far End of the Bench.
Big News for our listeners of this show, after sending out the message on last week's episode about wanting a cohost for the podcast that position has been filled. Staring here in the next few weeks a familiar voice joins me as Niko Bryant will now be the cohost moving forward. Along with this change we will be rebranding the show's title and logo picture but the episodes will still be released on this feed in your podcast platform you listen with. You will recognize the picture change as well as the episodes will start at season 2. I am super excited to see how adding Niko will change and accentuate some of the best aspects of the show that have been established and where to will go.
As for this week's episode the title hints at the fact we are revisiting episode 11 with none other than Stacie Pallotto to talk about her family and the joy she gets from motherhood. The episode was originally recorded in late January and took place over the phone while I was still in Gunnison, but its one of the highest played episodes and if you are a new listener its a great one you may have missed.

On this week's episode we have finally made it through the no sports seas and by next episode we will have Baseball and Basketball games to talk about. In the meantime on this episode I talk about some of the updates going on in my life, my mom made it through surgery and is now at home resting and recuperating. I talk a little about Jocko Willink and the idea of "Extreme Ownership". Then I wrap up just on some personal thoughts about the world currently. For the outtro song it is a little throwback to the beginning of quarantine and when I started recording songs in my dorm, I chose "Aint Nothin' bout you" by Brooks and Dunn.

As teased in episode 43 yesterday here is the special tribute to my mom that Dom and I recorded. I hope you all enjoy and please keep her in your thoughts moving into the surgery and beyond. For those that don't know my mom Stacie whom you are familiar with from episode 11 (go back and listen to it to hear how awesome he is) is undergoing major surgery to remove all lymph nodes from her neck that have contracted Thyroid cancer we initially thought were taken care of. She is the glue that holds the family together and though we drive her crazy half the time she still tells us regularly that watching us achieve dreams and accomplish goals we set brings her the most pride.
Dom and I decided to dedicate this cover to her because its a song that is powerful and speaks to the connection a child shares with their mom and how important a role she plays in the life of her children. Like I said please keep her in your thoughts and send lots of love and positive vibes so she can recover from her operation on Monday.

On this week's episode we get another eclectic group of topics to cover, just like usual but this time we throw in the theater and discuss each character of the smash hit musical Hamilton. Then some sports talk about how Covid might affect the upcoming season and whether it would be worth it to figure out a way to have a season. Finally we wrap with thoughts from last Saturday's UFC 251:Fight Island card. For the outtro song this week Dom and I take on the King George breakup anthem to his former colonies "You'll Be Back" and do our best to channel the despair of a ruler scorned.

On todays episode of Center of Attention I talk about some of the things going open in my life and how they have been affecting me and the way I have been in the world. I explain my feelings on Cam Newton being signed by the Patriots, and why it was blown out of proportion for a backup quarterback. I talk a little bit out the NBA forcing Zion to be the next major star and discuss Ian Desmond's recent statement on why he will be sitting out this season's shortened MLB campaign. We wrap the show up today wit some strange current events which we haven't done since February and we found one that is sure to strain you while you listen, its quite a dump if you ask me ;). It was a fun episode to get back to and since the episodes with cover songs as the endings have been so popular I added one I sang back when I originally went back to Gunnison you may like.

On today's episode of Center of Attention we get back on track, thank you guys for adapting with me last week in getting the podcast out a day late, I can't thank you all enough for wanting then still listening to what I thought was an awesome episode. Today we talk about a lot since we are back to just one podcast a week, but we start with the Bubba Wallace story that was uncovered Sunday and thankfully no hate crime was found to be committed there. Then we talk about the Chris D'Elia controversy and the MLB coming back finally and what that is slated to look like. Then to finish out the deep breakdown of the teams in the AFC North we wrap up with the Baltimore Ravens and how they might be able to bounce back after last year's embarrassing loss to the Titans in the divisional round. With the final cover song for the ending today Dom and I sing another Love and Theft song "If you Ever Get Lonely"
